Thanks for getting the facts almost right. Since upgrades to solanas blockchain there hasn't been an outage. They implemented fees to deter bots from spamming the chain and crashing it.
I personnally never believed in solana so far because even if its tech is very impressive the team behind the project are always cutting corners when it comes to security and in the crypto market security is the foundation for any project.
Because unless you are physically holding the hardware wallet and have the passcode, nothing is leaving your account, no matter how compromised your device/wallet is.
Slope is actually my favorite solana wallet. Or was I should say. Solana has surprisingly a number of good wallets, I think most chains only have one or two. Solana has Phantom, Glow, Solflare and Slope. And they all have pretty good UX.
The fact that DDOSing one or two RPC endpoints can meaningfully affect developers ability to diagnose an issue tells you everything you need to know about centralisation in solana.
this cycles EOS, joke of a blockchain, from inception to current state, at every level they've geared it purely for profit while sacrificing everything that made bitcoin relevant, ie decentralisation and security

Honestly the hack doesn't surprise me anymore. With all of the hiccups, outages and hacks in the Solana blockchain and ecosystem, holding said coin is more risky than people realize, and I do believe that Solana is built by and for the billionaires. I wouldn't be surprised if it also drops below the top 10 coins ranking list

Is it possible for there to be a consensus in the whole blockchain community to have a protocol to blacklist the scammer wallets that steal funds so that it effectively becomes a null address, and then remint a derivative of all the lost funds and airdrop to those affected?
You're basically asking for a hard fork. Imagine you bought some Sol after the hack, and then the community decides to hard fork back to before you bought it, and you end up with nothing.
Let's be honest, the whole Solana network is terribly unstable and unreliable. Not technically FUD, cause that'd require "Uncertainty", and I'm certain that Solana is a sham. There are dozens of real blockchains to use. Why anyone still thinks Solana is a good idea is beyond me.
Men this Sentry stuff it is the most sketchy explanation. Who would configure an error reporting tool and flush sensitivity info or fail to sanitize the data.
Why are people protecting Solana. It still has Solana in the title. My advice to you all is sell your Solana and buy Cardano ADA. If you lost your money with Solana you are very upset 😡 and will probably not trust them. Just do the right thing and come to CardanoADA already and stop playing games bro

The problem is not that it can be fixed, it's that it happened. There's a major difference between can happen and cannot, pleasw understand that. Solana is not a good investment, I don't comprehend why you still support this centralized flawed garbage...
Maybe the network didn't fail, but it's one disaster after the other one with Solana. I really don't understand why this project is still alive and why people still keep investing in it. I'm not wasting 1 dollar to Solana, too much other MUCH better and safer options out there. For example Avalanche.

Other sources say it also involved the Magic Eden NFT marketplace linked to Phantom wallets. I don't think this was unique to Slope wallet.

Why the hell would a private key or mnemonic ever be logged or leave the software wallet. Very sketchy programming in the wallet.
Imagine if this happened and Solana was trading in 4 figures, there'd be a lot more pain.
