      Thanks John! I settled on this format a while back, seems most people like it, and I think it gets all the necessary information across to people.

    Nice overview here. Thanks for all your time invested in these videos. Looks like “Mini Me” (Verne) is happy to be home and doing good!

      Thanks Tom! The videos can be fun to make, and can also be a drag sometimes (just when I'm tired but know I need to get some videos made to show off these games) ... but overall, I love learning and playing the games so that makes it all worth it.

      Always nice to see you Vince! It's a good game overall, and production quality is particularly high, just has a nice hefty ruleset to go along with it. Verne is doing great! Lots of smiles and loving life. And I gotta say I love life with Verne at home with us.

    I've not seen it live, held it or even looked closely at pictures of it. It looks magnificent production wise. But...I've always (right or wrong) thought a card game should be fairly light and simple, right in front of you tidy and easy to keep tidy. It may be all that especially when you only control ONLY one side but the video I've seen doesn't seem to bear that out. Again, just perceptions. I do like the terrain cards which I also like about "Warfighter". Its one of those game I think I'd try if given the chance but have no burning desire to buy, read and struggle to grasp. Alot of my issues with games today is simply just ME. I dont want to diddle around and unpack a zillion things to try manage and not drop on the floor and follow a sea of procedures. There was a day, but that day has passed. Thank you sir for using your time to do these spots! It definitely IS helpful to us getting another pair of eyes on the games!

    I had a great time playing this when Sean was still in the playtest phase; this game is going to rock! LnL rulebooks definitely are wordy, but they cover so much detail of the game mechanics that I think it actually makes their games easier to learn; That being said, I think the game is actually less rules heavy than, for example, Fields of Fire which is a better game to compare it to than Warfighter

    • @WayneHansen

      I need to play Fields of Fire, I just kept hearing how bad the rulebook was, so I had no interest in it. Bad rulebooks are probably my biggest pet peeve.

      @@WayneHansen Aye - it was a cracking video. Good stuff. I have some enthusiasm for receiving my copy - but also some trepidation, particularly the size of the cards and playing area...managing multiple squads and support weapons and terrain in the same tiny little rectangle just seems like it's going to be very difficult.
      I might actually dump the play matt and use the column/row counters and spread the area out much more.
      I think the gameplay looks very interesting, but I'm also dubious about the terrain and LoS aspects. It's odd to me that a unit can fire through 4 vacant sectors but suddenly can't when a unit moves in front of it and blocking terrain appears. That doesn't seem right. I much prefer the Fields of Fire version of laying the terrain immediately.
      Anyway - I kickstarted it and it'll be here in a couple of months so I'll find out whether those issues actually manifest into problems for me or not.
      Thanks for your time - loads of effort required to make media online so it's always very much appreciated when others like yourself make the incredible effort.

      @@billyriley492 Hi Billy, I know that it seems quirky to have LOS and then not. The game is modeling the dynamics of fire and movement even if you are not directly managing the movement directly. Think of each sector as a clump of hexes which may contain a number of different terrain opportunities. There is a recon function in the game and this helps a player seek out the right terrain for their situation. You can drop terrain into sectors and this models infantry positioning themselves into cover, or shadows all without having to micro manage it. The terrain game is as important as the combat. There have been many players who have played and prior to that held the same opinion. I find that almost everyone became a fan of this when playing. Its a new system and obviously a risk. I feel strongly that this makes the game different every time and a lot of fun to play.

    All good Wayne. I will admit that the LoS still trips me up a bit when I play. =)

    • @WayneHansen
      @WayneHansen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Devin! To be fair to Point Blank, while I think the LOS could have been tweaked (or gotten rid of, but me and Sean will debate that soon), I probably struggled with LOS most in most games I play. I think a lot of us do.

      Absolutely. And that's what my reviews are for. I'm not trying to tell anyone what games to buy, I just want to provide information so people can make informed decisions. I've also heard from someone saying this game looks epic and thanks to me they preordered a copy. Every wargamer has different interests and tastes for sure.

      I heard they are aiming for September or October, but in today's world, I know that is completely out of their control.
