I’m from Woolwich, London, England. The story was going great till you forgot the script and got her mother to call from where?? Heaven hasn’t got a phone line.
Viewers of the American TV series "Dallas" would not turn a hair when a character killed off in one season steps out alive from the shower two seasons later, the season in between having been nothing but a dream in his wife's head.
That is what I thought that I heard too. Other than this stupid blunder the story was fine, with one large exception, not a word was mentioned that since the cabin was CO-OWNED, how did Richard forge OP's signature. Was his name on the ownership papers? I doubt that!
I never watched that series, but, how does that have any bearing on this story. This, like all of these TH-cam stories, is fiction! There is no point in bringing people back from the dead. Those few sentences could have been deleted, and it would not changed anything in this story. This blunder along with nothing mentioned about how the cabin was sold without her signature, are the only mistakes in the story, at least as far as I can remember. There were no mispronounced words, and no repeated sentences. Not a bad story.
This is an implausible story. Any lawyer for either side of the transaction would be aware of who the legal owners are and that the sale by a third party was an impossibility
@@walkerhjk there's a lot of stealing houses deeds and people find out someone else owns their house. It's a scam being done now days, easier to do in several states here in the USA
Of course. Before any real property transfer can take place, a title search has to be performed, specifically to be sure that property is unencumbered by liens and verify ownership.
That transaction was DOA. Richard didn't have the permission of either owner of the property. All the ladies needed to do was sit back and wait till the "buyer" realized it was a fraudulent transaction and go after Richard. The buyer would have gone to the cops to charge him with fraud. The title was at no time in danger of being transferred.
Sounds like the notsale might have been a bit under the table. Nobody did their due diligence and once good ole Dicky boy got the settlement monies, he’d just hoof it and leave the new notowner to attempt to plead “possession is nine points of the law” and leave them to tough it out with the legal owners. Possibly a drawn out process, though it shouldn’t be.
No, no, anytime you go to sell a property. And you're an agent, you can lose your license. You have to have proof that that is their property. And you would look it up on the county records. When you do these stories, do your background? Come on, details matter, they really do
Awesome story. Loved the strength it oozed. I can quite relate to it coz I have dealth with a manipulative mother of my husband. She left no stone unturned to make my life miserable. There came a time when I actually began missing my own self and realized how I had become the shadow of my former self. I fought back and reclaimed myself. And the feeling cannot be described in words..... only felt.
All my life from childhood, I have been the black sheep of the family, but when they needed something, they would come to me. But if I needed help, they couldn't answer they would always say, "You just don't want to be around family." And I tell them why would I when you ignore me, except to have me clean up after you. My mother wouldn't even talk to me 80 percent of the time, except for show and tale for her friends at events. So I started ignoring them and not doing anything for anyone. Example: left me on the side of a freeway for hours because they had a book club to go to. By the grace of God, he sent Angel to help me. Not for years, it me in every aspect of my life, I depend on me and no one else. Please stay strong and fight back with silence and strength. God will and always have your back, know your true friends and if ones you think are your true friends and ask too much or cause trouble where there is none, slowly cut that string. God Bless you. Your are God's creation and blessing.
There's all kinds of fraudulent behaviour, the consequences of which are avoided by artful but criminal lawyers, in this case though, even Harvey Specter wouldn't get away with trying to sell this girls house.
If this were true, all that was needed was a Criminal Complaint of Fraud to the Police, Richard had, by even advertising the property, committed at least 3 crimes, by signing the Contract he committed another crime, by taking part-payment another crime. If he signed Transfer documents, another crime. On the Fraud, at least 5 years, the other crimes add another couple of years. Rough guess, 10 years on the top and 6 years on the bottom. Then, there is the Civil action for the attempted Fraud.
"He who sells what isn't his'n must buy back or go to prison!" Besides resurrecting Mama, you also had Laura twice go to the cabin "for the first time." 👎
First of all, the picture of Catherine is a stunningly beautiful woman. This comment is not meant disrespectfully. The story was entertaining. I would listen to another one. The only drawback was a few errors. Like the mother’s death then later alive. Plus the errors related to real estate. But write on. You have talent. Craig
The part where Catherine used the law to her advantage really struck a chord with me. It’s a powerful reminder to know your rights. Has anyone else had to rely on legal agreements to resolve personal conflicts?
This story is incredibly screwed up on so many levels that it's baffling. 1) To begin with, Richard said it was a cash deal. Then a Realtor is involved. 2) The first thing a Realtor would do is a title search. If the property isn't in the seller's name, then the seller must have a Power-of-Attorney to sell the property. Absent POW, end of transaction. 3) Title Insurance would immediately do a title search, without the owner's signature it would refuse to issue a policy, end of transaction. 4) Absent 2 & 3, no Escrow Account could be opened, no money would change hands, END OF TRANSACTION. 5) Even if it were a cash sale, the buyer would immediately do a title search. (That is unless he had only about a thimble's worth of grey matter, which would also mean that he most probably voted for Trump.) End of transaction. 6) When someone tries to fraudulently sell your property, you do NOT have to take any action to prove you own the property. All you do is call the police. The fraudster goes to jail, end of the matter. Additionally, it was really sweet of the mother to telephone from beyond the grave. Edit 1: Grammar.
I would have made him get it back somehow.i would have talked to me mother and tell her the money was owed back to cages tone and her friend who owned it. This is never OK
I sometimes wonder if laws are different in the countries where these stories originate. So many times fathers/husbands/brothers manage to sell things that belong to a female OP. Maybe in other countries this can happen but not in the US or UK or others. Women have rights of possession that don't depend on the men in their lives.
The real estate agent didn’t do her due diligence. There’s usually a title search on property/house sales. The real estate agent should be sanctioned or lose her license.
Seriously the inconsistency in the story really may not bother others but they make it difficult to listen to. When a section starts a a phone call then suddenly changes to face to face? Then mom's dead but alive at the end. Whomever writes these really needs a proofreader.
If she owns the cabin, how did he "sell" it, even without her friend's permission? This story sounds like BS. In addition, how stupid were the buyers not paying for a Title search.
This could be partially true. The rich dad dies. His wife only can survive as long as she has a man alongside her, a daughter doesn't count. She is young, like 12 /13 so the mother has the money solely under her control and gives POA to hubby, which includes daughter assets. With that he starts spending everything to finance his gambling, including daughter's assets. She realizes that, bring it to mother's attention but mother doesn't really care, she WANTS hubby, not to preserve her daughter's money. You HAVE to forget hubby, I LOVE him (and saying without saying Mother DOESN'T LOVE you). So daughter goes away because it is too hurtful to stay home ,gets an education, turns adult , makes friends, doesn't care about the majority of the state but their mountain home where she lives, fixes it and takes her best friend to remodel too . Probably reminds her of summers with her real deceased father, all the good childhood times. She also sells a part of the house to her best friend. And then hubby sells the only thing she cares, the mountain house. He does that using the original POA mommy dearest gave him so, yes he sells it . Hubby was counting on her not wanting to embarass mummy for giving consent to selling something which is not hers anymore ,which would put mother in jail, not hubby. So the sale is contested on the grounds of the BEST FRIEND wasn't aware of the sale and the signature wasn't mother's but hubby's. So instead of mother going to jail hubby does. But her relationship with her mother is ruined. She is sort of vindicated, has an excellent friend who stood by her through thick and thin.
I can’t believe this story, at the beginning it described how the mother had passed and towards the end the mother had something to say about the sale of the cabin!!! Stupid!!!😂😂😂😂😂
She comes home to the cabin and then days later comes to if for the first time since she came home, and she and her dead mother have a conversation on the phone, damn if your going to tell a story do an outline first it keeps you from looking stupid, but I did enjoy the story with the flaws that were in it. Since the Dallas Dream sequence "return" has been a prevalent plot line in lot of movies, tv shows and books. Available to TH-camrs, also.

One who was a bit suss; one owner overseas for a period; one unscrupulous FIL; a bit of cash under the counter
