Thanks for the video instruction. I enjoyed seeing the difference between the different glue up methods. I was surprised that you could put them through the drum sander so soon. I learned something new again today thanks.

This is the second time I watched this video. I have done a little bit of segmented turning years ago, but I enjoyed watching your video. You did a great job explaining everything. I appreciate you taking the time to share your information with everyone. Thank you Sir. Dan

    Love your videos!
I would love a short video on how you made your sled. All the steps and tools you used to make it.
I have a box digital angle finder (like a wixie), but I’m not getting anywhere near what I should be on 20 segments.
    Getting frustrated :(
Any advice would be super appreciated!!!
    Thanks Earl!
    ❤️🤙

Thank you Mr. Earl for taking your time to make and post this video. It has really helped me to understand how to do this awesome art of segmented turning. I am currently really struggling with a small amount of gap. I don't want to do half rings, I want to do it right and make whole rings but I haven't figured out my error. I am getting conflicting information on the formula for the segment length. One person says that there is a property called "Vernier length" that has to be considered because we are cutting the segments on an angle. Have you herd of this? The formula is Seg Length X COS(Miter Angle). The pieces work out to be just a little different than the the formula "RING DIA X TANGENT = SEGMENT LENGTH. Can you help me solve this problem? I am certain my equipment is set up correctly and square. I really appreciate your time. Robert

There is many programs and charts on line so you dont have to figger them out, if you send me an email I will send you the chart I use opensegmenter@gmail.com

I can cut 2 rings same material same time one will have tight joints and one I will have to adjust the angle on a segment to make to joints tight, it happens.
