Don’t listen to anyone that says that it’s too soon or in poor taste, most sea shanties are dark as hell and cover a whole host of tragic events. In my opinion, this song is the perfect way to honor their memory. Although, I think I would change 1 lyric. The line about their hubris, I’d have changed it to “The Captain's Hubris” or “The Owner's Hubris” as I don’t think the passengers had that much hubris, they simply trusted what the owner said.

I am not so sure that not hording your money is the moral here. If the company's owner had followed standard safety protocols in designing that sub, he could continue to horde his money and still be alive. The lesson here is less "Don't horde your money when others are in need" and more "Safety is one of those things that you don't skimp on."
