Me and my bf would always listen to this, and played the game together.. unfortunately he passed this year..this song will always be ours. Rest in peace Ryan♥️1/08/19
+Albert Allen when I finally bought KH for PS3, and heard this for the first time after what felt like a million years, for days overtime this would play I would either tear the fuck up, or burst into Niagra Falls. The soundtrack is beautiful, like the game itself.
Growing up i never got into kingdom hearts like my older brothers did. One of them recently died and on top of that i have been going through hell in my head due to feeling love for the first time in my life. In memory of my brother i decided to play the games and now this song hits so different, im in tears
Utada does good job singing in English without hearing her accent. I especially love that vibrato her voice has, it's that special thing this song needs.
“When we are older you’ll understand it’s enough when I say so and maybe some things are that simple.” I wish I learned this sooner. It really did take until I was older to understand that it really was enough when you said so.
yeah she actually HAS talent unlike alot of singers here in the west who either lip sync or they are only popular because they are willing to wear skimpy cloths on TV.
THE FUCK YOU TALKING BOUT!?! this one is the fucking bass boosted remix!! i dont know why EVERYONE Insists this is the original but its NOT! this is a bass boosted remix, thats why it starts off so suddenly!!
nostalgia use to be classified as a mental illness. it is so powerful it drives some men mad. It can be overwhelming with the right set of circumstances.
I never finished the game back in 2006. I was 10 back in then, but I watched my brother play and finish the game, and KH2 as well. There's something special about this game, it satisfy my desire to be free in a fantasy world. And this song is just so good, the melody fits perfectly with the feel you get in this game.
My daughter had introduced me to this while playing kingdom hearts this song caught my attention i been listening to this woman since then. Her voice is comparable to Wendy moten and Whitney Houston
I heard this years ago. I couldn't ever find a full version since the one I saw was a 30 something seconds animation. I found one once, but it was deleted/blocked, as well was the animation. My years of torture are over
I wish i could find the commercial that played this song. I never played the games but the nostalgia from hearing it on TV and liking the song. The nostalgia.
This song makes me cry every single god damn time. Utada Hikaru deserves a prize for this. I have a clear memory of this game as a kid. Her voice is angelic that I cried every time I hear it. If it wasn't for this game I wouldn't be an guitarist today
This game molded me into who I am today, it taught me very valuable life lessons, like to appreciate the little things, never give up, and always follow your dreams, this song is absolutely beautiful and I’m thankful I’m able to listen to Utada sing this even 10 years later when I’m all grown up, brings tears to my eyes, the feeeels man the feeeels
Man. It’s two days before the game stop release for KH3 and I can not explain how much this song is just so poetic for me. The hype is real. I can not wait.
Even though I never played Kingdom Hearts, I heard the song from a commercial. I looked forever for this song. No luck. But I just stumbled to this. I'm happy now. :D
The first KH game I played was 358/2, which my cousin wanted me to play. I was mildly interested in it for a couple of years, when I found a play through of the first game and Chain of Memories. After that, I bought 2, Birth by Sleep, and eventually Dream Drop Distance. This series has impacted my life a lot, and I'm so glad it did.
Kingdom Hearts holds a special place in my heart. It was my first game series I ever played and this song made me feel like I was never alone. Whenever life brought me down I always think of these songs. And everything is better.❤️🐝
Been listening to this song since 2016. Thanks to this song, I’m now a fan of Utada’s music. So beautiful and iconic. It’s a shame how underrated and unknown she is here in the USA ( despite others knowing her only for Kingdom Hearts ). She’s done more songs before and after Kingdom Hearts.
"Lately, you're all I need. You smiled at me and said, "Don't get me wrong, I love you, But does that mean I have to meet your father?" When we are older you'll understand What I meant when I said, "No, I don't think life is quite that simple.""
I remember getting this for Christmas in 2002 way way back. Still makes me cry, and I consider myself a big tough guy. Patiently waiting for KH3 well into my adulthood. :D
Everyone hates on shinji but I feel him on a personal level . This movie made and still makes me feel nostalgic and melancholic ,my heart starts beating like crazy when I hear this song ,i'm overcome by this weird sadness that somehow feels right and cozy ,and I love it.
I remember when I saw the commercial for the first KH, I wanted to try it out. Got the game for Christmas, became a big fan ever since. When I go back to play the game, I just cry a river... brings too much nostalgia.
Not gonna lie, Hikaru Utada is amazing with hiding her Japanese side in her English language music. Like if you’ve never heard of her before, you’d probably think she’s an American or Canadian. I heard her speak in Japanese and she was pretty fluent but the moment she sang this song, I was like… “Hold up! I thought she was Japanese Japanese! Not Japanese-American!”
The first time I heard this song was back in 2010 when Re:coded came out, I was 7 years old and I didn't understand the song but 9 years later here I am finally realizing what this song means.
I think what makes KH such a groundbreaking series to me just isn't the game itself. But the beautiful music that comes with it. Music so powerful it can make me feel nostalgia unlike anything else. Truly a timeless franchise.

This song will never get old, it's amazing and is apart of the game. The music they chose to represent certain parts of the game absolutely fits, this song is amazing and belongs so well within the theme of the game and etc.
Onesided love towards my best friend I talk daily for the past 4 or so years is tough. They have a special place in my heart though =w=. I'd rather be "secretly" in love with them than ruin our friendship by making it too awkward. ("secretly as in I once confessed it to them, but they kindly turned me down. I love this song and can never decide if I like it better in English or Japanese. As another poster wrote, I woke up with this song in my head and simply had to hear it as quickly as I could get to a computer.
+Derrace Simmons InterDejaVu. The original KH commercial back in the day brought me to TH-cam, too. Never played the game. I keep listening to this from time to time, though.
It’s one thing that this song is my childhood with kingdom hearts and it’s a whole other thing to realize this is just an amazing song and means a lot to me
I feel like this song will never get old
bri gomez Agreed, her music is always good ^-^
+bri gomez It NEVER does.
Exactly
+Justine AZ I agree
+bri gomez Damn right!!
Me and my bf would always listen to this, and played the game together.. unfortunately he passed this year..this song will always be ours. Rest in peace Ryan♥️1/08/19

She's from New York
+AlmostAlive I wonder if Japanese people from America speak Japanese with an English accent?
clayton2nd if you are talking about Americans who speak Japanese as a second language I can say that we definitely do usually have an accent.
Hikaru...Utada is her family name.
She's an American lol
“When we are older you’ll understand it’s enough when I say so and maybe some things are that simple.”
I wish I learned this sooner. It really did take until I was older to understand that it really was enough when you said so.
utada hikaru is legendary.
d.onut yes but Hikaru Utada
@@shinobione2575 Ouch. Wanna try again?

Utada Hikaru Sung this like an angel.
Yes i agree
Michael Charles Definately!
Voice of an angel!
makes my soul cry man
She is a fucking angel!
Not enough people in the West know who Utada is. It's a shame. She's so damn talented.
They are honorary Aryans for sure
Is this the West or The East from Asia?
Joshua Fagan is she real big in her native country? and what country is that? Sorry ive sadly only heard of her through kingdom hearts
yeah she actually HAS talent unlike alot of singers here in the west who either lip sync or they are only popular because they are willing to wear skimpy cloths on TV.
nobody that hasn't played kingdom hearts has heard of her.
Finally one that's not the goddamn remix!
THE FUCK YOU TALKING BOUT!?! this one is the fucking bass boosted remix!! i dont know why EVERYONE Insists this is the original but its NOT! this is a bass boosted remix, thats why it starts off so suddenly!!

+Lynne Chandler original is amazing

I jus order kingdom hearts kingdom hearts chain of memories and kingdom hearts 2 😇
So much nostalgia. . . The song literally makes me feel amazing and kinda sad at the same time. It's an odd feeling. But, this song is still amazing❤️
this is one of the ew songs out there that kind of can also make me feel happy.
I feel this. I can't even put into words the emotions this song makes me feel. It's like a happy emptiness?
iEMoT1ONs I know EXACTLY how you feel. I've been feeling it for years!
iEMoT1ONs That's nostalgia for you.

Dwindo Yudhismara boo
You made me smile on a bad day, thank you stranger !
Just let me....Face My Fears!

You deserve a medal, good sir.
When I listen to this or Sanctuary, everything feels clear and pure, like I'm bathed in white light.
Is this a Kingdom Hearts reference?

How couled y'all not find the full version? There have been many of them on youtube for years
+Joshua Shepard I always used mobile and YT back then wouldn't let you see certain things if you were on mobile. Anything with this song was blocked
+Joshua Shepard I know right, there's also a whole world outside of TH-cam where things actually exist. :p

Me too!!! Never played the game but I loved the song and I knew the game would be beautiful and tragic in someway.
I played parts of the game. I remember this from the commercial tho. Great song.
I've never heard of someone playing parts of the game, you either play a great series like that or you don't there's no grey area.
BRONXBOMBER88 same here, I only played parts. Well, not even that..haha I always had to watch my older cousin play. I could never play lol
Well..not everyone have or likes Kingdom Hearts like you do..
*shields self from probable hate*
This song makes me cry every single god damn time. Utada Hikaru deserves a prize for this. I have a clear memory of this game as a kid. Her voice is angelic that I cried every time I hear it. If it wasn't for this game I wouldn't be an guitarist today
I remember just letting the home screen of the game play all night long so I could hear the orchestral version of this.
The menu theme is dearly beloved, not simple & clean

so, what did ya think of kh3?
@@sopix7761 I actually didn't like it sadly
Even though I never played Kingdom Hearts, I heard the song from a commercial. I looked forever for this song. No luck. But I just stumbled to this. I'm happy now. :D
i used to listen to this song everyday multiple times and i stopped at some point, so fast forward 3 years to now and i am doing it again hRLP.
The first KH game I played was 358/2, which my cousin wanted me to play. I was mildly interested in it for a couple of years, when I found a play through of the first game and Chain of Memories. VoidTraveller XIII the version of 358/2 that I have is the version that is literally a movie. not even joking. smh
It’s a masterpiece which is clearly not simple at all, they are so creative
This song makes me want to dance and makes me super sad at the same time.
This is one of the best songs I've heard in my life.
I have no idea how I never noticed that the theme song is basically telling you "yeah the game devs are gonna fuck this story up real good"
and i have no idea how did you noticed that XD
Mr. Truth listen to the reversed version
***** you have the link for that?
Aiman Hafeez just type in simple and clean reverse
Ealonex there's video here on TH-cam
I remember wanting Kingdom Hearts just because I heard this song. Never played the game, but still listen to Utada
Btw just incase you don’t know, her first name is Hikaru, in english writing she would be Hikaru Utada but in Japan it would be Utada Hikaru
This slower version really gave the first KH ad I ever saw a lot of impact. I never bought a game so fast.
Suddenly, this song came into my head. Now I'm here... The nostalgia
this song is literally my childhood. I played the Kingdom Hearts games so many times that this song was stuck in my head all the time.
I love this song, I love the voice of Utada Hikaru and I love Kingdom Hearts
me too
This song is still great after all these years. The family & I used to play Kingdom Hearts ALL the time. That was the shit growing up!
Great background
Kingdom Hearts holds a special place in my heart. It was my first game series I ever played and this song made me feel like I was never alone. Whenever life brought me down I always think of these songs. And everything is better.❤️🐝
Reminds me of my innocent self as a child, and the world and everyone in it was simple and clean
This is the STUFF! Still made me cry even though it's the lyrics..
Fairy tail is number one 👆
So don't listen to 2 different songs at the same time and be half asleep because i totally heard "b*tch i could prove i love you"
This may be the most beautiful song that has ever grace my ears
So beautiful that I cried listening to this song as a kid
I just realised, I am older now and I understand what she meant she when she says it's enough when she says so, and it really is that simple
"Lately, you're all I need.
You smiled at me and said,
"Don't get me wrong, I love you,
But does that mean I have to meet your father?"
When we are older you'll understand
What I meant when I said,
"No, I don't think life is quite that simple.""
I remember getting this for Christmas in 2002 way way back. Still makes me cry, and I consider myself a big tough guy.
Patiently waiting for KH3 well into my adulthood. :D

Evangelion?
This is from a video game called Kingdom Hearts. I don't know who Shinji is, and I don't think there are any characters in the game named Shinji.
To this day it's one of the most heart warming songs
Tears every fucking times.... for, a game????
Fuck my life....
Oh trust me if you looked up any other game with music like I don't want to say goodbye u can expect waterfalls coming out of your eyes
+Federico D'Antoni its the nostalgia man... Plus the story is sad since roxas is just sora's nobody. And roxas was more badass than sora
Try Dearly Beloved... Kairi singing to Sora (if you belive in that, like me)... Waterfalls of Tears...
+Tommy Moodie true

This song will never fail to make me feel a certain way- like I just lost someone I didn't even have.
Pretty sure I have played KH BBS more than 5 times on every character since release and I still go back to it from time to time
Every commercial break when this game came out, had this song blasting at least once per program
Best song ever put into a video game ever! Nostalgia overload
I miss playing Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix in quarantine. The song’s low key good.
Play this song in my funeral as a tribute to my life in the 2000s.
The definition of life. This song will always remind us.
That our hearts are truly are our guiding key.
The first time I heard this song was back in 2010 when Re:coded came out, I was 7 years old and I didn't understand the song but 9 years later here I am finally realizing what this song means.
This might be the greatest theme song for a video game ever. Awesome.
I couldn't help it. I had to sing along. About halfway through the song I couldn't hold back my tears. Who else cried while listening to this song?
I think what makes KH such a groundbreaking series to me just isn't the game itself. But the beautiful music that comes with it. Music so powerful it can make me feel nostalgia unlike anything else. Truly a timeless franchise.
This is the first time I'm hearing this song, and only because Sora's in Smash Bros and a fanmade Palutena's Guidance had this song.
I decided to listen to this version, and I'm hit with a wave of nostalgia. I love Kingdom Hearts, and this song was just so Iconic. Hikaru Utada is an amazing singer
I don't know this song makes me feel some type of way for real also gives me goosebumps love it
OMG how could I have possibly forgotten about this songs existence for so long
this song will always have a grip on my heart
Her songs always makes me feel refreshed
For some reason, this song always hits me right in the feels. Sanctuary does the same, just not as much as this one does.
Man this just gives me the perfect summer vibes
You have the voice of an angel
That's Hikaru Utada. She's got such an amazing voice.
This song will never get old, it's amazing and is apart of the game. The music they chose to represent certain parts of the game absolutely fits, this song is amazing and belongs so well within the theme of the game and etc.

is this a breakup/rejection song? sounds so depressing which is why I love it.

the kingdom hearts commercial brought me here, I had to look that up in order to find this sing........its beautiful.

Beautiful song. I am an rnb listener but this is a very well made song and put together.
I have to be honest, that burst sound is something synonymous with this song.
Who's here after Sora got into Smash? ✋🏻
