This made my day! I watched Countdown not too long ago via Carroll Ward! Been into Navy Carriers ever since. If I ever get enough money one day, I want to buy a S3 and add a 30mm cannon and make my own A-10 warthog. Thanks Periscope for saving films like these 🎉

He mentioned guided Missile Destroyer but showed Spruance Class Destroyer Briscoe DD 977. Spruance Class were primarily for ASW.
Probably wanted to keep their CGN cruisers from being exposed to early. LONG BEACH was one hell of a ship.
