They spiced up the script a little and pitched it to Columbia, but this time with Eddie Murphy and Wesley Snipes. Columbia loved the idea, but Eddie and Wesley wasn't available. Eddie suggested Martin Lawrence and Martin brought in Will and the rest is history. While doing promos for Bad Boys 4 Life Will and Martin brought this up and that it's often brought up when they're all together.

nah, it's a programming thing - we get always the same script, they show us you can fight, hurt and more all the goons, lowlifes, petty criminals and sometime even innocent security guards/bodyguards... ..but when you get to the final boss/the most evil of them all - stop! he is important, "it's not worth it", double check if you follow every procedure, don't hurt, tame your anger - because in other words he is better than you, me, anybody someone see enough movies like that growing up and it can get to his/her subconscious, mind programming

Bad Boys is a classic. I’ve watched it many times. Bad Boys II is good also. I ❤️ Will Smith in Independence Day & Enemy of the State. Martin L. is good in Blue Streak (cop comedy) & National Security. Don’t know if you’ve seen Die Hard (Bruce Willis), but it’s definitely worth the watch!

Please don’t believe the sequel is better than the original. It isn’t. It’s a very good film, but this is such a natural film. Leads not playing up to their roles but just playing them. This is a classic action comedy.
I prefer the 1st one just off the fact that Martin and will were both arguably in their comedic primes at the time. N I prefer Martin playing the angry lil man to the more docile version of Marcus in the sequels. Plus it's more nostalgic. Anybody who grew up in the 90s knew Martin n will had two of the most successful sitcoms out at the time. Ahhh the first bad boys film where Martin was the bigger talent and Will was just getting his feet off the ground. This is '95 so Will would have 1 more season of fresh prince before they wrap it up in '96 if im not mistaken.
This and Rush Hour are probably my 2 favorite trilogies. Bad Boys 2 is one of my all time favorite movies actually. Blew out my old surround sound watching that movie even.
One of the archetypes for the modern comedic yet gritty buddy cop movie is Running Scared (1986). Beverly Hills Cop came two years earlier, but it fits more into the loose cannon/lone wolf trope like Die Hard or Action Jackson. Running Scared established the formula we see in franchises like Lethal Weapon and especially Bad Boys. You wouldn't think Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines would be believable as cops, but they have great chemistry and pulled it off very well.
I've seen this movie a dozen times and I just realized the song playing in Club Hell is "Juke Joint Jezebel" by KMFDM, one of my top 5 favorite songs ever.
bad boys is a great cop buddy movie, but I prefer bad boys 2. since u2 love Eddie Murphy, if neither of u have seen 48 hrs or another 48 hrs, I highly recommend both for a reaction review. Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy have amazing screen chemistry.

This and Rush Hour are probably my 2 favorite trilogies. Bad Boys 2 is one of my all time favorite movies actually. Blew out my old surround sound watching that movie even.

One of the archetypes for the modern comedic yet gritty buddy cop movie is Running Scared (1986). Beverly Hills Cop came two years earlier, but it fits more into the loose cannon/lone wolf trope like Die Hard or Action Jackson. Running Scared established the formula we see in franchises like Lethal Weapon and especially Bad Boys.
You wouldn't think Billy Crystal and Gregory Hines would be believable as cops, but they have great chemistry and pulled it off very well.

bad boys is a great cop buddy movie, but I prefer bad boys 2.
since u2 love Eddie Murphy, if neither of u have seen 48 hrs or another 48 hrs, I highly recommend both for a reaction review. Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy have amazing screen chemistry.
