Alot of ppl also don't realise when u freeze a tame or a player theres a timer after u get the freeze off and they can move if u dont kill the player or tame they cant be frozen agan for like 30 seconds if they are an aggressive player they will push u hard af at this point because ur freezing beam wont work
I remember finding like 80% of these first few days of the mana nerf. It was the only tame I had at the time and my base was almost out of reach (top of Val ab zone)

I just want to clarify, because a lot of people (even some that i know and have multible thousand hours in the game) say "if you punch your mana, the stam goes up faster". NO, this is NOT the case ! The only thing you do by punching it, is "updating" the... how do i say this... Interface ? The thing that shows how much stamina or hp your mana has while you are off it. That means ark doesnt update the shown stats (in this case the stamina) fluidly, for you it looks like the stam only climbs every few second by a decent amount, because it only updates every few seconds. If you punch it, it gets updated every hit and shows the stamina rise constantly, thus resulting in the illusion of it climbing faster. I hope this was somehow understandable, if not. All you need to know is: Punching your mana doesnt make it regenerate the stamina faster ! I also want to add that if you have sound on you can hear the survivor getting hit on the mana through the beam/freezing sound. Some other things i want to cover are 1. Im not sure if this got mentioned in the video, its really late for me, im tired i might have missed this. Rev says that you cant snipe people anymore with your beam etc. and that you have to walk closer. The reason is that the further they are away, the less damage you do to them and the less damage (melee) you deal (have) through the increased range, the slower your freeze them. Because obviously the more damage your beam has the faster your can freeze the enemy. 2. When you happen to freeze a mana mid air while he is jumping, you can actually go under him and put your beam around the position where the rider is, you will hit the rider THROUGH the frozen mana from below, basically damage both rider and mana. This can give you an easy kill and after that time to finish off the mana without any problems 3. What i noticed in mana 1v1s ALOT of people do not actually use the mobility of the mana right. As rev mentioned, you are more likely to lose a freeze fight if he hits you first or if you miss him with the beam. The mana has an incredible turning radius which can help you to make the unprepared enemy miss his beam. It will go like this: You are head to head in a freeze fight and suddenly turn a little to the right, getting your beam off him for a split second and then just turn hard left so you are actually behind him and he wont be able to beam you while you can get close to him point blank (giving the advantage from point 1). I dont know why noone does this, but you can easily run to the sides and make the enemy miss the beam while you hit the majority and just keep attacking them from behind. A lot of people also pounce on you to damage you, thus interrupting your beam for a short time so they can get the first hit off. If you want a solid tactic in a mana 1v1 just do this: Jump on them from the side to interrupt their beam and get the first hit in on them, then try to get behind them while still freezing them, run around them etc. If they jump up and try to do the same to you, simply predict their pounce and as soon as they hit you, you start to beam. This will also give you the first hit. The most important thing on a mana which not a lot of people do is use the mobility and turning radius of them. Simply run around the enemy, dont stand around. And as soon as you are behind them, giving major damage they will panic and start to run away. In those few seconds you can give even more damange output and as they jump up, maybe freeze them in the air. If you freeze them in the air and their mana is bloody, just beam it from the side, try to get as close to it as you can or just use 2. and try to kill the rider. If you predict their pounces and freezes and are faster than them, hit them more, use your mobility then you can outfreeze a 2.3k melee mana with a better saddle than you with a 1.5-1.7k melee mana. (You need to have imprint on it tho and use all the tips and tricks and utilize them to the best of your ability) Mana fights are sometimes all about strategy, mobility and use of resources. (Except you are against a 100% imprint 4k melee mana, then you better run or wait until he runs out of the 2k stam he has, melee manas dont have a lot of weight so you could weight grapple him or try to kill the rider etc.)
I really don’t support pvp in this game. So I only pve. But despite that your video was soooo helpful. Before I hated riding the mana. Now it’s my main transportation and dmg dealer. Ty.
just a little tipp Hp Manas are the strongest on Ps4 i mosly 1vs3-5 people sith there meele manas the still cant kill me because on ps4 they dont have this high dmg output i even can easy go abd freeze a giga he can bite me abour 25times before i would die manas cant rly counter other manas you should just go for the freez and then use anflametrohwer or something like that
You'd counter nets in a similar way to plant Z. Both dismount you, both take half a brain to use, but plant Z is slightly harder to use. Usually people will carry more plant Z than they do nets I find, since it's more expensive, so you can potentially bait and waste their nets if they are shooting them generously. If you are netted, immediately chop the net (male character does it slightly faster). Your goal shouldn't be to continue the engagement on foot, always prioritize your tame first. Anyone trying to get you off your tame is banking on the fact that you're going to panic. Stay calm, pull out your cutter and break the net immediately upon being netted (bonus points if you dismounted before the fight, equipped the cutter, and then mounted so it's the first thing you equip when dismounting). Always remember that nets or any dismounting tool is not dangerous in itself, it's how you react to the situation or got into that situation to begin with that makes it dangerous. If you find that you don't have time to cut the net, you're probably taking stupid fights like pouncing a guy who has his giga already out of cryo or something. As for the Desmos, I haven't been playing, so I really don't know how it works. I assume the Mana is faster than the Desmos, as it is most things, so you can use that to your advantage and play the long game.

dont lvl past 450(obviously) or just breed with low lvl mana with no pts into anything and repeat till u get all stats so u can lvl ur mana to ur hearts content
Rev I just gotta say, melee manas are capped now and those lines are getting around alot, they have 4k dmg and will freeze you in under a second it's actually cancer you only have time to throw 1 z if you're lucky
The melee you have does not effect the time to freeze it only increases damage , if you want to avoid being frozen as fast then you need to have good saddles on your tame

High damage ones need a nerf, but the dino itself doesn't really need a nerf. It's not really that good. When the melee gets over 2.5k it gets a bit overpowered.

I reckon you will be insta frozen and dead in 5 seconds on a ferox. They are very expensive to play with and not worth the time right now, but maybe in the late future.

Are tame stats on pc and console different? On console a mama with 1k melee is considered good while on pc apparently it’s barely any.

The armor factor is the only thing that affects freeze time. Melee only increases damage

Yeah its a really cool dino that has a pretty good learning curve but can we all agree this dino has to be nerfed?
High damage ones need a nerf, but the dino itself doesn't really need a nerf. It's not really that good. When the melee gets over 2.5k it gets a bit overpowered.

HP is worthless, you should prioritize stamina on bad manas so you can at least play the stam game and run away.
