Thanks so much is great to know such wisdom, here in thailand i got a document of lord siddhartha describing the lord of mercy as is our christ 500 year before christ , i did a book and presented to HM of thailand and to the holy pope francis asking the canonization of lord buddha since he saw christ described him and ask every body to meditate in his wounds to be saved , today i knew is already canonized . In my dreams i got visions of the catholic church telling me siddhartha gautama is a catholic saint but this was a dream a vision that only today i confirm thanks to the national artist of thailand Sumet that informed me about Saint Josephat, another time jesus gave a dream bringing me into a temple and asked me to declare , this palace in bangkok belongs to him then i was dropped int he royal palace bangkok i could not understand this dream, later on i dream into the royal palace a catholic church . any way it is beautiful to find that the lamb got 7 eyes and one of them is the lord siddhartha gautama, , revelations 19 according to my meditation are playing clear here in thailand in this buddhist kingdom. after christ when god walks the earth there is no more duality so images of the lord and his kingdom are not idolatry, 1 corinthians 24=29 talks about All in all at the end of times so all the lords are in christ and christ in them so God .so if we divide our selves as religions and traditions without realizing what buddhadasa bhikkhu said that who knows his own religion in deep considers all as one and the same then the darkness and evil enters us and made us fragil to destroy each of one but if we love each other every religion as a eyes of the lamb we will be really defeating the darkness the evil ignorance and ego and defeat that evils
the letter of saint jude talks about the false prophet that divided the church of christ made over the stone Peter in vatican
This is my book in four language i presented to them , english, spanish, chinese and thai .

Saint John of Damascus defended Christianity and Icon Veneration against Islam
It would definitely make sense for us to use eastern philosophy to defend our theology

+Daniel Hopkins: I appreciate your intention behind your critic of the "prejudice [of the] Western mind," but in this case I think it is misguided.
"A Buddhist Christ" would not make sense for this piece because that would imply that the lecture was about Christ, and about Christ's relationship with Buddhism. Instead, this lecture is about the Christian appropriation of the Buddha (or more specifically, the legend of the Buddha). Therefore, the title "A Christian Buddha" is far more fitting. In other words, "A Christian rendition of the story of the Buddha."
Talk of Christ or Christ's relationship to Buddhism is nowhere in this lecture. How, then, would "A Buddhist Christ" be fitting? While I do think it is important for us academics to unsettle the Western hegemonic assumptions ingrained in academic discourse, I think quickly jumping on word order as an indication of power structures overlooks the other functions of word order. In this case, changing the syntax would completely change the meaning of the title, rendering it useless for this lecture.

There is a place in Jammu and Kashmir, india, namely yusmarg , where it is believed that Jesus Christ came to India to learn Buddhism.

I grew up as Buddhist from a Vietnamese family it’s easy to relate and convert into Christianity. Catholicism is spiritual and was around before Jesus was born don’t forget that. Spiritual influences is mind blowing.

Christ, the Word, the Logos, who incarnated in human form, Jesus Christ, is one with the Father and Holy Spirit and is uncreated.

My parents were born Buddhist. It was very easy for them to embrace Christianity because it was everything they already believed in Buddhism repackaged as modern Christianity eg.trinity, faith healing, prophecy, supernatural experiences, speaking in tongues, visions, man took another man as a god, from worshipping one image to another etc.

Josaphat & Barlaam is basically a translation from BODHISATTVA based on Lord Buddha life .
It was spread from India to middle East by the help of king Ashok(The Mauryan Empire, which formed around 321 B.C.E & ended in 185 B.C.E)

Scholar here says original form of Josaphat was Sansrkit Bodhisattva, this would presume a borrowing of a Sanskrit text, the more probable form was Prakrit Bo-sat (Joseph, Aesop, Asov, etc)

It seems that the Buddha was welcomed into the orthodoxe and catholic churches as a prophet! Holy Josaphat was welcomed first by the Georgian church!!

Yes, you're right! Buddha is a title! It seems also that the Buddha was received as a christian in the catholic church (the story was distorted with time) but received as a precursor (as the prophets) in the orthodox church!

A christianised version of legendary history of Buddha. The romance was first composed in pehlevi language about 6th century ad and then translated in arabic and syriac which were then rendered into greek and greek version was translated to many european languages and even in icelandic around 1204.
There is also no doubt that Apocrypha, admitted by the roman catholics into old testament, borrowed largely from the buddhist literature.

There's also another reason that no physical evidence of Christ has been found. So, terms like Before Christ and 'In the year of the Lord' makes no sense
