  • A rare recording by Jack Jenney, who died at age 36. Here he shows his mellow side for the last full chorus in "I Can't Get Started." The show was aired on February 4, 1945 (the last year of his life). Music Depreciation was a radio show with various talented and famous performers, who were MC'd in a very tongue-in-cheek manner.

Thank you David Werden for posting this selection. Have heard about Jack Jenny all my life, but heard him play very little other than the famous Stardust Solo. Many thanks!

A lot of arrangement but when he finally shows up (3.30 in) you forget everything before and listen to his incredible trombone. He died later in 1945 - almost a swan song. I wish he would have recorded in small group settings more.

Great Jazz trombone sound like Tommy Dorsey!
