    Just redid a leaking plug. I've plugged a few tires but never had to redo one. This video gave me the confidence to pull the old plug out confidently. I had a much easier time than you. I also didn't know about heating the plug after instal. Did it, tested it, and no bubbles!

    Also if you cant pull out the plug after attempting too, you should be able too just push it in with the tool that comes with kit,I did and its fine

    Thanks for sharing. I've plugged quite a few tires, but I've never put cement on the reamer, nor have I cauterized the plug. Great tips. 👍

      I thought it was vulcanizer for the butyl rubber on the plugs. Is it actual cement? Vulcanizer would be better, no?

    Sir if we will not use rubber seal liquid, then is the plug will be still good? , or rubber seal liquid is must require.

    Nice video ... and remember, there are different size plugs ... I have 4 different sizes/diameter in my kit ... most holes, by the time they're cleaned/reamed out are bigger than the nail/screw that punctured the tire ... the combined plug diameter (doubled over in the tool) needs to be slightly larger than the hole itself (as the tire compresses back around it and the plug compresses as well) ... as mentioned in the video both the hole/reamer need to be thoroughly covered in rubber cement as well as the entire plug when inserting ... the plug will be under stress from normal driving so it needs to be a rather snug fit sealed in rubber cement ... larger holes should really be patched by a professional for safety reasons

    Hi Johnny. My tire has a plug that has small leak. the bubbles are very small, and it takes a while to lose air. if I light it on fire the way you did, will it seal it back up? how long do you let it burn for? thanks

    • @JohnnysSpeedShop
      @JohnnysSpeedShop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you can it's better to replace the plug, I normally light them for 10 to 20 seconds but that's a new plug, I would try heating up around where you have the leak...let all of the air out first or it will not work. Good luck...

      I can’t get mine out either…..I’m about to just punch it in instead. I just thought about it and it’s not like a loose plug inside the tire is gonna throw the wheel off balance or anything. Other than my “knowing” that it’s in there it won’t be noticed.

    Hi, the puncture seems to be in the side wall range and classed as non repairable in the UK. If I took to repair I would be told the only option is to replace the trye with a new one. In the UK its more like any which way but lose your money.

    • @JohnnysSpeedShop

  • @redding4540

    if the tyre leaks within 1 inch from the tyre wall, it is not really repairable. soon or later, it will leak again.
