i love jamal but at the end of his career he wasn’t going to help most contenders win at least not on the court maybe in a udonis haslem time but his play style at that point wasn’t what contenders needed . he was an average defender at best and was a great catch and shoot player . he needs the ball in his hands to score and any serious contender would rather have the ball in a much better team oriented player . like i said i love jamal but his play style has a time and place and most teams didn’t need that if they wanted to win a ring

NBA is still Corp America and you’re still just an employee. Corp America is always looking how to cut cost. You are labor and labor is a controllable expense. You can be super skilled but they will let you go and hire another employee with potential that they can train they way they want for a cheaper cost. Just like a veteran/Skilled Store Manager that has an income that has become more than what they want to pay, so they either find a way to terminate the employment, force a retire, or restructure and hire another Store Manager for half the cost.

It’s because he needed the ball to be affective, he didn’t do anything off ball and he was a huge liability on defense. He’s the definition of what kids think basketball is now. Just looking for highlights. Plus they had young talent like Booker, bridges, oubre, then got cam Johnson the next year so they didn’t need a wing that dribbles the air out of the ball and doesn’t play defense.

I hated the NBA from learning too much about how that operation...I think it's a different thing...than what we see...on 📺 or hear on a radio. We should know its a product. Thats sold, commercially. For profit. This is not about these players who talk about as far as passion they both have. Mal said the mental struggle fighting ghosts not knowing about the hurdles of control of not being able to say I can play when I want and stop when I want. Being WANTED. Not having that feeling. And, being paid and possessed. We see the highlights. Curry with his outstanding shooting. I love that they sat and showed you all these convos because your favorite players? This is what they talk about. Basic life. Basic economics. How they have to not know where they will be to do what they loved since kids. It became just a job. But...a job that's sold to us as a show. Entertainment. They need you to pay for jerseys games tickets stream subs. Remember that part.

Like ageism is a bad thing and a good thing. A lot of these players have made millions in their career and achieved a lot and can still perform but there are many young men fighting to just make the league that have to miss out cause a great player has been holding a spot for 20 years. Some young players would be blessed with a 2 year career let alone 20. Let the young guys get a swing unless your big time box office.

It seems like all the owners get together or something and decide who they wanna kick out the NBA! It's so weird!!!

I believe if a super vet is not a winning player, the smart thing to do might be to start looking at some fresher talent 🤷‍♂️

Just gotta come to terms with reality. Theo made the league because he was a young guy, and then when they realized he was never going to be a real rotation guy, they’d rather take a chance on a young guy with potential, like he was 5 years before.
Jamal scored well on the worst team in the league. Teams don’t want a 39 year old ball stopper that is a decent scorer but is a massive liability on D. Great career but it was time to end.
