  • This is Part 1 of 2.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    List of things needed.
    1. clean microfiber cloth
    2. dental floss or fishing wire
    3. goof off
    4. plastic pry tool
    5. rubber gloves
    6. a lot of patience
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    How to install OEM Black Honda Emblems. I De-badge the rear and just leave the Gloss black H on the rear hatchback. Best decision ever. A Badge delete will make it look absolutely clean and shows off more of the rear hatchback area which this car is famous for.
    Make sure to subscribe and click the bell so you won't miss Part 2 which will be the front Emblem install.
    I am not responsible for any damages caused to your car. This video is intended as a guide and not instructions. Please refer to Honda.com for proper advise.
    Black Gloss Emblems - Part # 08F20-T47-100A
    The kit comes with the front H, rear H & Civic name. I used the H symbols for my install. I got these on sale for about $80 shipped. To order these just go to www.collegehillshonda.com & click accessories, enter your model number and search away. I got my order within a few days.
    Thank you to everyone who took the time to watch this How to video. Please comment if you have questions. I will do my best to help you out.
    Buying a new car has been a rollercoaster. The dealerships are inflating the prices of a used car so much, it doesn't make sense to buy used when you can buy brand new for the same price.

    For the chrome delete would you do the black door visors from the sport and then a jet vinyl?

      I’m still undecided how I’m going to go about the window molding. Not sure if the si part number will fit. The hatchback has a different roof line. It’s on my radar.

    I just had my 2022 sport touring hatchback rear panel repainted because the paint doesn’t adhere to the resin hatch as good as metal. DO NOT PRY THE EMBLEMS OFF. Good thing for me the dealer ship did the damage and they are fixing it.

    I love the new look. BTW, are you concerned the 1.5 ltr turbo engine which had oil dilution problems in some of Hondas' earlier models such as the CRV and Accords, could reemerge in the 2022 models? If not, what has Honda done to mitigate the past problems with that particular family of engines if you happen to know. I would consider purchasing the same model, however my top priority in any vehicle is long term reliability. I would even sacrifice horsepower and purchase the naturally aspirated 2.0 ltr with the manual transmission as I believe it would have a longer service life vs. the turbo charged models. If anyone in the comment section has information related to this concern, please share. Thank you.

    • @mr.rene2u
      @mr.rene2u  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. I am completely unaware of the oil problems in the past.
      However when it comes to reliability…. That was the main reason for the purchase. That and along with a $25 fill up price at the pump.
      This car is a grocery getter. We don’t race or mistreat the car. I would hope it last a long time.
      Time will tell. But a new car for many many years to come for sure.

    • @Dan-p360
      @Dan-p360 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mr.rene2u Thanks for your reply. The oil dilution problem can be easily found by entering it in the search box. Many videos have been created in the last few years by people who have purchased Honda products, particularly the CRV with the 1.5 ltr turbo charged engine. In fact, Honda has recently settled a class action law suit with Canadian buyers some of whom have expressed negative sentiments of how viable Hondas' so called solution really is. I have been a longtime Honda buyer, however some of their recent offerings have shaken my faith in their engineering prowess. It has been stated that perhaps some of their questionable engineering is a result of government mandated mileage and emissions standards, which dictated some of the recent turbo/direct injection engine architecture introducing it's own problems at buyers expense. I hate that because I'm in love with the 2022 civic si and would pull the trigger but engine reliability is still a big question in my mind. I'll just have to sit on the sideline until I'm satisfied they have got a handle on this issue and when I finally make my purchase I'll have the advantage of new features not currently offered.

      @Sauce8451 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Dan-p360 If it makes you feel any better the oil dilution problem was solved by software update for the affected cars. So it wasn’t anything mechanical that was the problem.

      @@Sauce8451 Thanks for the feedback. I discovered the same in my rabbit hole dive of this issue, which doesn't address all of my concerns. There is the anecdotal accounts of cars still experiencing the same problems, so I will just continue looking at this until my doubts are addressed.
