Fun Beach Day, Until We Got To Our Camp Spot

- I found this car camping spot on the iOverlander app. It is incredibly hard to find free camp spots near California beaches, so I knew it was a risk. Two locals told me that everyone knows that vans sleep on this road, so I decided to take a chance. I cannot confirm if this is legal, but there were no signs saying 'No Camping'. There are many turnouts above the reservoir and I saw about 5 other vans/vehicles parked nearby when I left the next morning. I just chose a flat pullout above the reservoir on Old Creek Road (Cayucos, CA).

I’m sure everyone can understand that I wasn’t going to try to film the cop that pulled up, while I’m sitting outside in the dark alone. While he didn’t ask if I was camping, I did have all my window shades up, and I’m sure he knew why I was there. I got lucky this time, but I don’t think I’ll camp there again. The free night wasn’t worth the stress.
It was just a safety check, no more no less. Your a solo female traveler. I’m sure he knew what you were doing. He has bigger things to worry about. Love your videos, keep on making em.
Being a local in this area. Lots of people car camp in the turnouts, mostly off Hwy 1. Should be ok for a night😊. Duckies & pier my fav place on an afternoon.

Hi Court and Luna Girl, I just adore Luna's personality and watching all the conversations u 2 have. I am also a single dog mama and I talk with my boys all day long, sometimes it's just with our eyes and other times we use words but we spend so much time together that we are practically one person jk lol. I couldn't live without my dogs. As I've commented in the past Courtney, ur my hero and I'm about to turn 38 yrs old and have found my priorities have changed so much over the years. I'd say ten yrs ago, in my first marriage with my high school sweetheart I enjoyed watching shows like Girls Next Door and Real Housewives with a common theme of being in a relationship and being taken care of. Now, after recently going through my 2nd divorce I'm much more concerned with who I am as an individual woman and how I can nurture and take care of myself all by myself and this is something u are just great at Courtney. I hope it isn't too late in life for me to make something of myself and I hope whatever I am able to make is even half as special and strong as u are.
