Love the chats. I'm actually pretty well prepped for power cuts. 41 years ago I wasn't as well prepared and 9 months later I had a baby. I think you forgot that aspect of much needed preps 😂
🤣🤣🤣👍
The dark cold nights sometimes has its perks
Thanks Leigh. Always worth a recap and a different point of view. Very easy to become complacent. Prepping isn't just for Christmas it's a state of mind. And mine is in a right state!
Absolutely!
Love the around campfire chat , good advice, this year are town in Cornwall the power has gone out 3-4 times , I am prepared for blackouts so it don’t effect us , but many it does , won’t be long and I be joining you for a hot chocolate around the fire pit.
Firepit nights are great even in the cold evenings..Nice hot malt drink or warm brandy..and fire gaze...
Make sure you bring the chocolate bananas

Thanks, just hope it gets out to the masses.
Great content again Leigh. Much appreciated 👍🏻
Thanks Mark
Love these talks ❤
So basically , put on ya coat , eat curry and get w@@kerd . Gonna be tough but i can do it .😇
Thing is, they had everyone running scared about power cuts LAST winter......so how many people this year will just roll their eyes and ignore the warnings?
(I stocked up last year, so I'm prepped!)
Nice video thank you Leigh. I went camping in October once, a woolly hat is a must for sleeping, so woolly hat, gloves, nice socks and lots a different layers as natural as possible, hot water bottle handy to. You can get glove and sock warmers to. I would love you to makes videos around the camp fire with guests. I really miss David’s live stream on a Sunday night. We need something to get us all together and your it 🤣🤣🤣
Love the channel and the content . Looking forward to more uploads .
Thanks for tuning in
Nice to hear about what you are doing across the pond to be ready for power outages.
Greetings from Indiana, USA.

Cheers Leigh; only just discovered your channel, and now enjoying your videos. 👍 I'm prepped and ready but there's always something new to learn. Looks to me like the S is going to HTF, in the coming weeks/months. Clown World!
A target under attack will always have its power and communications cut off at night.
Love this as a disabled person who mainly got into prepping due to the dreaded covid it made me realise that when the shtf i cant bug out due to a iffy hip i waa fairly screwed so would love any advice for bugging in as unless absolutely essential to survive bugging out isnt a great option keep the great advice coming much appreciated from south eask kent coast sam 🙂
Love the fireside chats, keep them coming.

Id also recommend Biofuel fires for heat in such events 👌🏻

A clockwork/wind up radio & torch always there no need for batteries.
Good call
With regard to lanterns, I can understand your concern, they are a slight source of heat too and if used right are quite useful, a smallish light and an even smaller amount of heat overnight are no bad thing. I love lecky lights for their brightness but paraffin lasts a loooooonnnng time if you look after it and for this gangsta has its place. One to watch around pets and kids (like candles) but especially over winter, if the lecky is off for a while and your powerbank is low or out with next to zero chance of recharging then paraffin lamps are ace. They're also very atmospheric too. 😍
There’s a place for all options, i to have oil lamps as more options you have the better. 👍
@@TheBugOutShop I've a couple of Feuerhands with the spare bits and bobs etc, not my 'go to' if we have a short term power cut but they are great out in the woods, again, there are better lecky lights but the lanterns are cool. 😍
£32 Billion over the past 10 years in grants to wind and solar projects.......A waste of OUR money; cameron's dad did well tho', milking tens of millions in grants for windfarms on his land in Lincolnshire, plus endless ongoing top-ups .............
It makes me 🤮 the way politicians, their families, their friends and associates screw us daily. I can’t wait for the next election I’m gonna be running there. Not decided yet the Heritage Party or Reform Party. I’ll see whose on the list. They can’t do any worse.
Call me a conformist, but I don't agree that government doesn't have emergency plans in place - otherwise we'd all face many more 'emergencies'. That said, I agree that it's sensible to have personal measures in place like those you suggest.
Enough with the tea sipping, jesus wept
It was hot chocolate
Been hearing this from the 70s, don’t panic everyone 🥱
