@@Spindatt I hear airlines are struggling hard right now... if they can cut a sweet deal with us to have your bike shipped over after every mud fest... new business opportunity for them... win-win-win 🤪
That super-mini-framebag opportunity detail is the best! Great intro to this new bike, and r.e.s.p.e.c.t. for Poseidon to let you introduce this new bike.
I think it's a lift handle strut. A good position for a carry handle to lift the bike over obstacles, especially with a full set of bags installed. I saw something similar on a Rondo Bogan
Yup. That'll sell. I could make a pretty good guess as to the price point. I am curious about your opinion of AdventX. MicroShift seems to have hit a home run with Advent; and the reviews of the new version have been good.
I dig your content, you make pretty solid videos. You should have a larger channel/following. I randomly discovered your videos about three days ago. I have binged a few of them early in the morning while rocking my son. I’m really new to cycling. Like, really new. Maybe a month. Honestly I’m just trying to have fun and get exercise.
"All we can do is get it dirty". As if that's not really the only important thing about a bike. Numbers are whatever they are, if its fun to ride its fun to ride. And, that looks really fun to ride.
Oh hyped about this! Aluminum fork is a little weird but I'm looking forward to hearing about the full specs. Also I shouldn't worry about compliance when it's a huge tire like that
I wish Poseidon bikes were available in Europe(Poland) - sounds like a redwood is a nice alternative to Marin Nicasio+ (which is available...sometimes)
Oh hell yeah! Big fan of monstercross bikes :D Some time ago you mentioned your "dream bike" with a custom steel frame... You probably don't remember but I suggested Marino, who makes those and happens to live in my city so I ended up getting a hardtail frame that fits drop bars. Totally outrageous machine with front suspension and all because here we got a mix of roads and gnarly trails with mad climbs and descents. I just gotta go and ride it more but I'm a little hesitant because my city isn't dealing with corona very well and it's dangerous out there...
I got myself the Diverge E5 because as my first gravel bike because of your review, and it has probably been my best buy ever. I am now feeling tempted to get this one for my fiancee so that we both can explore new paths during our weekend rides. Hopefully, you or Poseidon reveal more details soon.
That thing looks sweet with the big tires. I just got the Poseidon X in the blue about a month ago and my first upgrade of a SRAM Rival 1 42T crankset and GXP bottom bracket are on the way. I wonder how big of a tire I could go. I think a 1.9” is stated for a 650b but that’s with mud clearance so maybe slightly bigger but definitely not 2.35” lol
frameset looks super solid! but I'm so sad to not see a nice groupset on it. nothing too fancy but entry level sram would be suited much better in my opinion
I have no interest to promote this, but I have done it based on your words on the other Poseidon X bike you got ... a year ago? Most of the plugs on people asking for recommendations for such bikes as the X on reddit I think have come from me and a reference to your video. I really think that how those bikes are built and equipped and their competitive pricing is a breath of fresh air between the stripped full of crap cheap bikes and the super-equipped motorcycle price range bikes. I think Poseidon fills the gap well, with tons of sanity. I am also a microshift fan which adds to the formula. If I made bikes they would be very similar. I took pride a while ago trying a microshift rear DR instead of the finely working 105 I had and liked it enough to leave it on. This completed the drivetrain set being microshift. That I think says enough. I also weighed the two and m-s came out slightly lighter as well.
Go back to that stick infested trail with Norton! Pretty green color on the bike. Throw some flat bars on that stem, and put the spacers under it, and I would be a happy guy!!!
Honestly, it looks to be basically the Poseidon X with bigger tires (and, I mean that in a good way). Same microshift components. Looks to be same ProWheel 38T crank. I can't see any reason this would cost any more than the $700 the X goes for.
@@Galactico42 Honestly, my only concern with this bike is the wheels. Advent X is a great choice. For value its probably best on market. The cranks are whatever at this price. But in the southwest I cannot use this bike unless the wheels are tubeless ready. The tires look like Kenda's nevegal line, but the model number is not one you can buy raw. I'm going to guess these ones aren't tubeless ready (most models of nevegal are tubeless ready). If they want to charge an extra $100 and ship it tubeless ready, it'd still probably be the bike to beat at this price.
I bought a Poseidon X last year after watching your review on it and I have thoroughly enjoyed owning it and the several thousand miles I have logged on it I do have one question I think you can answer: How much does it weigh?
@@PathLessPedaledTV or no sides if you are minted and can afford the wireless electronic versions (gears not brakes obvs ;). Love your channel btw... my first vid on this one but looking good so far. Not sure how supple this bike will be with that rear triangle though.
So, as a question, where is the line...? I also have a gravel bike, 38x700c, all the shananegance, but BUT, I cannot see the interest in being shaken to shoulder death in on fully rigid bike when you can take a hardtail mtb over the same terrain any day of the week... so, where is the line between this "monster-cross", or a hardtail mtb? Cheers!
My only question is what's the notable differences between this and the Poseidon X, other than the tiny frame triangle sized just perfectly to hold a single energy chew.
that's a new bike? and the shift cable is coming out the side of the brifter? I don't like that. Shimano 105 from 2012 has that. It's not something I'd expect from a new bike.
@@joeturner6409 I'm pretty sure even Claris has the cables tucked now. And that groupset is dirt cheap. The only reason I can decipher is because the left brake lever doesn't have a cable, it would make the feel of the bartape different. But that' doesn't mean I accept it.
It’s the advent x group set. I have it on my Poseidon X now. It’s a solid mechanical feel groupset that performs well and is very inexpensive. Shifts a pretty got especially for the price.
Looks like a great idea for the money. But as of today price is slightly, which is not a bid deal given the inflation. But it wouldn't hurt if there was a room for little fatter than 2.1 29" tires. Come on Poseidon, you already using MTB BB, make those stays a bit wider. You'll give Salsa run for their money... bit time.
I like how you slam the stem on every single bike, yet they're all different geo's. At this point that's gotta be a pure vanity thing, right? Feel like this rig doesn't deserve the slammed stem vibe. Nice bike though! Not bad for what I assume will be aimed at the budget adventure bike market.
