iSimangaliso Wetland Park: Southern Ecosystems with Sakhile Dube

- We've collaborated again with the "African Golden Voice" Sakhile Dube as he narrates this short piece on the 5 ecosystems of the southern section of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park.
These sections include:
1. The Marine ecosystem: Categorised by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.
2. Eastern Shores: The section of the park that is home to the highest sand dunes in Africa as well as one of the largest coastal grasslands which extend all the way to Kenya.
3. Lake St Lucia: The pride and joy of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park and a wothy centrepiece.
4. Western Shores: The savannah lands with amazing views and access to Lake St Lucia.
5. The Swamp Forest: The natural filter system for all water entering into Lake St Lucia.
It's no wonder why then name iSimangaliso means "The Wonderful Sight."
Listen as Sakhile talks us through this incredible World Heritage Site.

Africans should appreciate the amazing and simple life they’re in it is actually 1,000,000 times better than my country which only has sand and sand and sand and sa- you get the point and so should the Americans a lot of them have bad lives and if only they went and (at least) tried to live simple life with electricity without anything with other’s hands work but to live by their own hand work such as building a house and by their own hands and living in it in a forest or a green flat land in the middle of a forest and experience that life that many..many Americans don’t experience or sand people like me but I did tho experienced a glimpse of it once and I’ll never forget that experience it was honestly the best experience I have had in my life and I can’t wait for the day I experience everything in it bad or good…and that’s all peace be upon you.

It's amazing how you have such a connection with your country - much like the Aboriginal people of Australia (I'm not sure of the correct term - Koori etc. From Latin Ab Origine (from the very beginning; from the source or origin). Amazing people, as yourself, who deserve recognition.

Beautiful...it takes me down memory lane. reminds me reminds me of my dad,Mandlenkosi Absalom Gumede. We used to wake up in the wee hours for fishing in Mission Rocks, Bangazi lake, St Lucia Estuary, Cape Vidal...♥️. .a fisherman of note. He knew almost every indeginous tree and plants there. One day I will write a book. He was born and raised there until.....1969.

I was watching thbe other video where he was explaining the sounds of the various Nguni languages, Xosa, Zulu, etc. and when he said " iSimangaliso " I thought he was saying he was in St. Lucia. I was wondering why a South African was in the Carribean explaining the languages of his country.
Haha - yeah, the St Lucia in the Caribbean and in SA are often mistaken for one another. I think more people know about the Caribbean one though.
