It is the content that matters Jon. I like this album reaction idea. Nirvana is also my favourite band. Here are some suggestions for the next video; RHCP - Californication / Nirvana - Nevermind / Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream / Oasis - Definitely, Maybe / Iron Maiden - Number Of The Beast / Nas - Illmatic / Outkast - Aquemini / Blink 182 - Enema Of The State / Weezer - Blue Album / The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds / The Beatles - Revolver / Jimi Hendrix - Electric Ladyland / Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here / Metallica - Ride The Lightning / Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin IV / The Cure - Disintegration / Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American / Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine / Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP / Kanye West - College Dropout / Wu Tang Clan - Enter The Wu Tang 36 Chambers /
I know right? I think Chad Channing is amazing with his timing and tightness in his drumming on this album. Wish he was the drummer on Nevermind and In Utero.
they were so unknown when this album came out. my dad wrote for the school paper at a community college in the seattle area when this album came out and nirvana played a show for less than 100 people at his school and my dad wrote about what a funny name the group had and how he's never heard of them before. this was 3 years before they were the biggest band in the world. crazy stuff!
Papercuts was always the standout track for me. My non-metal friends thought that School and Negative Creep where the most metal tracks but a true metal fan knows it's Papercuts.
Remember, a lot of Nirvana's early stuff is "sludge metal" which is often noted as punk infused metal. So, when you say just "metal" you're sort of generalizing the metal genre.
I feel you with the length of many of these songs. They are great songs, but much of the time it gets repetitive. In utero is my favorite album by Nirvana. It mixes the angst and nonconformity of bleach and the listenability of Nevermind. I would really love for you to react to the combat rock or London calling album by the clash. Even if you’d like to react to one single, maybe just react to magnificent seven. I don’t know how much you know about them, but they are one of my favorite punk bands of all time. Them, the Sex Pistols and the Dead Kennedys are all awesome.
Here to support Jon! Travis Scott - Rodeo is considered a ‘modern classic’ and would highly recommend a full album reaction for that. Best hip hop album of the decade imo and experiments in lots of subgenres. It most definitely was ahead of its time and has inspired many other artists since its release.
Best hip hop album of the decade is a reach considering most of Kendricks discography is in the same decade. But I respect your opinion and understand where you're coming from.
Good review, man! Nirvana are still my favourite band- nay, thing in the world. I still listen to them regularly, and like all impactful influences in life, the albums, demos, bootlegs collected since I was 13 ( Im 38 now) only meaning more to me as times fly by. Like most, I heard Nevermind first at the time (91-92) and somebody then taped their version of Bleach for me. It was quite the initial surprise upon early listens -that sludgier downtuned sound flows like magma down over a hillside town, with Kurts volcanic howl taking on heights not heard on Nevermind. I was so naive at the time, I wozznt even sure twas Kurt singing at times on my first listen to Bleach!! Those sludge metal sulphur riffs we hear on the album - the big influence on that was undoubtedly The Melvins- local heroes to Kurt at the time. I love the album- be it the bludgeoning downer grooves of Blew, Floyd the Barber's metal riff and melodic chorus- ,"PaperCuts main riff sounds like yer front door being knocked upon by a murderous killer- or indeed the fantastic rampage of Negative Creep. As you mentioned, About a Girl is no doubt when Kurts childhood love of the Beatles and shiny pop sensibilities begun to surface from the darkened fuzztones swamping the album. "School" meanwhile- written about himself getting a job as a Janitor in the very same school he'd only left not long before(!) -is a total Air Guitar riff, that again, we would hear to the maximum in Nevermind. Bleach is overshadowed by Neverminds eternal sheen in the spotlight, and even though Nevermind itself is my all time favourite album, Im delighted to see Bleach get a good retrospective here! Loved it,man. Regards from Ireland.
Hey man, love that you reviewed Bleach! It's such an underrated album, it gets surprisingly heavy at points but also shows the beginnings of Kurts ear for pop melody. Big fan of the work you're doing with Simon over at RockReacts too, can't get enough of you guys! Smart insightful commentary and always open minded.
school and paper cuts are my favourite songs on the album. i can listen to paper cuts the whole way through no problem, i really enjoy the sound of it, i guess everyone is different. school has an amazing riff and such an iconic sound. they were way ahead of there time, it’s hard to believe the album was released in the late 80’s.
Full album reviews are maybe some of my favourite videos on TH-cam. Hopefully we'll see new albums get on here at some point too, would love to see your full reaction to the new Kanye when it's out obviously.
interesting you heard the beatles’ influence in about a girl. kurt wrote the song after listening to the beatles. thats exactly what he was going for :)
Any of these would be dope tbh GKMC TPAB MMLP Illmatic It was written Man on the Moon MBDTF Black Album All Eyez on Me The Eminem Show Late Registration
Danny Brown's 'Atrocity Exhibition' is a very unique hip hop album and is considered by some to be the best rap album of 2016. Would be interesting to see what you think
Bleach is my favorite album in the world. I wear this CD out all the time! It’s not only my favorite Rock N’ Roll album, but it’s my favorite piece of music ever released!
I think nirvana's MTV unplugged reaction would be cool. Everyone has seen it but not very many reactions at all. Awesome job with the channels my man! Inspirational stuff
Papercuts hits the spot everytime idk why I've genuinely felt like I've lost all emotion for music especially new shit its bad man but this shit is classic.
Yeah, my copy of Bleach is on cassette too! Lol At the time, I felt that Nirvana was bringing back punk rock, with those fuzz guitars. Breed on Nevermind was totally punk.
I fucken love this album, and really enjoyed watching this! You should do Alice in chains Dirt or would be keen to hear your thoughts on Nirvanas MTV Unplugged
Nice one Jon. I see your number of subscribers is going up and just went to your other channel and it's doing really well. You're heading in the right direction😁 Well done m8 :)
Jon muthafuckin Denton boi! love this idea and the fact that you’re spreading across a different channel. maybe you can do EP’s as well! these probably won’t get too many likes or whatever since it seems the RR audience is mainly hip hop based, but I’m gonna drop some unrelated hip hop anyway! RHCP - Californication Radiohead - OK Computer Silent Planet - Everything Was Sound / heavy, LOTS of room for lyrical analyzation, and the seventh track is a palindrome so that alone should spark your interest haha Texas In July - Bloodwork / groovy, bouncy, just some sick heavy music Volumes - Via / same as the TIJ album but a bit heavier Polaris - The Guilt & the Grief / 6 track EP, they’ve released an album called The Mortal Coil since then but I think this would be a good intro to the band. heavy and groovy as well
ou should do The Burning Red by Machine Head from start to finish obviously you're gonna love the shit out of Burn my Eyes and The More Things Change so it'd be interesting to see you do the album where they arguably lost their way and to see if it has improved over time.
I would LOVE a review of 1993’s ‘Judgment Night’ soundtrack. My feeling is that it’s little known these days so deserves some attention. I don’t know how familiar you are with but it has some bangers on it 🤘🏻
You think these songs are too long. Lol. I've never heard anyone say that ever. Dream Theater and Symphony X are probably bands you could never like. 🤣
Please a reaction to an incubus album ! Wasn't listening to nirvana for a long Time , seeing it Here makes me Want to turn the lights off and dance with my self just to shake bad feelings off .
Please excuse the production values! Lighting will be improved ASAP!
Jon Denton I love your Channels so much! Plz react to To Pimp a Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar!

Try *To Pimp a Butterfly* and *Good Kid, MAAD City* by Kendrick Lamar. They are two of the deepest conceptual albums of all time!
“Love Buzz" is a cover version of a song by Dutch rock band Shocking Blue btw
Did not know that!
Its so different both really good versions
Oh it’s my fav song by nirvana, good to know
Papercuts was always the standout track for me.
Same...
Its really heavy, for sure...the most heavy track on "Bleach"...
It gives me a really big black metal vibe...
If you want to hear some crazy stuff listen to the pre-Bleach material and Fecal Matter. Way more heavy and just different
Sifting - the most metal
Paper cuts - the heaviest
Beeswax - the grungiest
the artist formally known as craig lastname paper cuts is my shit, that and Floyd
Downer is definitely one of my favourite nirvana tracks
If youre doing albums To pimp a butterfly is a must
Toby Hill he's listened to it
Nah i’d say Inscesticide is

amen brother
Best hip hop album of the decade is a reach considering most of Kendricks discography is in the same decade. But I respect your opinion and understand where you're coming from.
I would say react Kid Cud - Man on the moon. Now that's an experimental album ahead of its time that continues to influence many artists.
To Pimp A Butterfly is a classic
Good review, man!

school and paper cuts are my favourite songs on the album.
i can listen to paper cuts the whole way through no problem, i really enjoy the sound of it, i guess everyone is different. school has an amazing riff and such an iconic sound. they were way ahead of there time, it’s hard to believe the album was released in the late 80’s.

One of my favourite Albums of all time. Not sure if you are into The Smashing Pumpkins but a Siamese Dream revisit and review would be great.
