Was thinking of buying the exact same front shocks system for my 1964 comet…but how necessary is buying new control arms? Will they fit in stock control arms?
Yes they fit the 65 Comet control arm with no issues (which are identical to mustang control arms). The only thing you'll need to get is a 65-66 mustang upper shock mount (part that mounts to the top of your shock tower) if the 64 comets have the single nut mount like mentioned in the video.
The ford squeak usually comes from the spring saddle/perch and or the top isolator on the spring itself. Being that spring saddle is no longer used as the coil over has its own should lower the chances of any squeaks
@@Theoldcarchannel. I always thought that the the coil spring mounted on top of an upper control arm was a bit odd. It’s the only platform in all of cardom that I’ve ever seen operate like that.

What motor mounts did you use for the 5.0 swap?
Factory style horizontal bolt pattern (mustang mount)

unrelated question . when you do a 80's 5.0 in a comet did you have problems with the drag link hitting your oil pan?
@@glenfullford8321 when switching the 5.0L into the comet, we changed the oil pick up and pan to a front sump
I did that and it rubs, maybe I have the wrong motor mounts

Do the bearings prevent the coil springs from binding as the suspension goes up and down?
Yes, technically the washer alone would've done that task, but the bearings offer a smoother transition/rotation (less bind)
