The beautiful and lively Jesolo rises on the thin strip of coastline between the Venice lagoon and the mouth of the Piave in the Veneto region. Nature lovers can instead dedicate themselves to long walks, horseback riding or cycling in the green and peaceful pine forests.
Jesolo is an excellent starting point for real organized excursions to the lagoon and surroundings. And among the closest and most interesting places, in addition to the splendid valleys of the Venice Lagoon, there are Eraclea and Caorle.
Eraclea, of very ancient origins, has a beautiful beach, also known as the "Green Pearl of the Adriatic", 3 kilometers long and surrounded by uncontaminated dunes and pine forests. Also characteristic is the so-called Laguna del Mort, a stretch of sea, which a strip of land separates from the rest of the Adriatic Sea.
Caorle is home to the tourist port of Santa Margherita, and the historic center looks like a small village, with "calli" (narrow alleys) and "campielli" (squares), flanked by pretty pastel-colored houses. The beautiful city hosted and inspired the famous writer Ernest Hemingway.
