This song SOS was done on the Chinese show I am Singer, his first performance and no one knew what to expect, but the looks on the faces of his competition was enough to know they were highly impressed, after this performance by DIMASH over 600 million Chinese went on line to to comment and shut down the internet. The next day he was a star and bodyguards were assigned to protect him as he was unable to go anywhere without being recognized. He is now a legend in music with many millions of fans world wide that he named "dears" himself. He is the greatest , best singer in the world now, and is even better than what you just saw in this first video. I don't think I have ever heard anyone that has so much range...usually you're either high notes, low notes or mid range - this guy does it all, and seemingly so effortnlessly. Zhubanov University in AktobeKazakh National University of Arts in Astana, Kazakhstan. Dimash Qudaibergen (Di-MOSH KOO-die-ber-Gen) is a phenomenon and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan. Dimash is one of the best, if not the best, singers on the planet today. He started singing lessons at 5 years old and was later found to have perfect pitch. Dimash has been on stage since childhood: he sang and played the piano at various venues and competitions throughout his childhood. The young artist was not only a bright performer of famous hits, but also the author of his own songs. He had written seven songs by the age of 24. Kudaibergen sings in multiple musical genres. His main genre is classical crossover, but he also sings classical music (bel canto), rap, pop, rock, classic, Opera, traditional Kazakh folk, ballad and world music. He uses musical elements, and vocal styles and techniques of many other genres, including jazz, RnB, and musical theater. He is also known for his use of the whistle register and for singing in full head voice. Dimash plays seven instruments: piano, drums, guitar, keyboard, dombra (the most popular Kazakh instrument, like a lute), marimba (like a xylophone), and bayan (which is like an accordion). Dimash is most widely known through his live performances and has released several albums, the first one going platinum in 37 seconds in China and triple platinum in less than an hour. It has been widely recognized that his high notes are not whistle tones but head voice. Dimash rarely uses his whistle register but when he does it is spectacular. This song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and made Dimash a mega-star overnight. In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old) and the first non-Chinese. Foreign participants were actually forbidden until then. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home. Despite Dimash's planned brief presence, his name should be symbolic and understandable to the public. The name Dimashi was chosen and Chinese hyroglyphs were assigned to the 3 syllables: * Di - achievement * Ma - gemstone * Shi - dream, wish. Only professional, award-winning singers take part. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after this song Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door. The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to TH-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears. The Chinese organizers planned that Dimash would survive two episodes of the competition. They didn't really believe in him. I loved your reaction and how moved you were. The term we learn for which Dimash is able to do to make us feel his emotion in what he is singin is “emote” fto emote from the word emotion. The song is one of the saddest songs I’ve ever heard. I saw your emotion and saw how Dimash was able to give you some of the transference of saddens from it. You asked if he was an opera singer. This song sos had at least 4 genres in it. They call it popopera. Dimash has between 7 and 8 octaves. Because of that range nobody need ask what his genre is because he can and does every genre he wants to including heavy metal. Rap. Opera, rock, symphonic metal, traditional from his country which his goal is to mix that with pop. There’s so many good things from this one person that it takes a long time to find out about him. He started at 2 yrs old and is 27 now. He has been in the music business for 25 yrs in his doctorate now. If you go to his channel using his name he has just so many live videos. He’s worth this rabbit hole. I wish I could just talk forever to tell you all the wonderful things about Dimash. Here is this pretty amazing person that has all this talent and is a humble and decent person. January 16th last year he gave a digital concert on line and he charged $10 a ticket so us Dears could afford it. So ask his dears if you want to know if we love him. We do.

Dimash Qudaibergen (Di-MOSH KOO-die-ber-Gen) is a phenomenon and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan.
Dimash is one of the best, if not the best, singers on the planet today. He started singing lessons at 5 years old and was later found to have perfect pitch.
Dimash has been on stage since childhood: he sang and played the piano at various venues and competitions throughout his childhood. The young artist was not only a bright performer of famous hits, but also the author of his own songs. He had written seven songs by the age of 24.
Kudaibergen sings in multiple musical genres. His main genre is classical crossover, but he also sings classical music (bel canto), rap, pop, rock, classic, Opera, traditional Kazakh folk, ballad and world music. He uses musical elements, and vocal styles and techniques of many other genres, including jazz, RnB, and musical theater.
He is also known for his use of the whistle register and for singing in full head voice. He is University educated with degrees in classical and opera, as well as contemporary music, pop and jazz and completed a Broadway musical master class. On June 18th, 2020 he completed his masters specializing in composition and received his masters with honours having achieved the maximum score of 100%. He is currently working on his PhD in musical composition.
His 7 octave range (C2-D8 whistle tone) and 10 semitones is beyond comparison.Kudaibergen is well-recognized for his extremely wide and developed vocal range. His vocal range spans 7 octaves and 2 semitones, from C2 to C6 to F#6 and, finally, D8. This sequence shows his lowest note sung in vocal fry and chest voice, his highest note hit with his full modal voice, his highest note hit using falsetto, and his highest overall note, hit using the whistle register.
In terms of full notes hit, Dimash has used growls and frys to hit spoken notes around and below C2, some of which may or may not be counted as part of his range. This includes an Eb2, an A1 and an F#1, various other frys around Eb2 and D2, a G#1 and a Bb1. Therefore, if counted, those notes make his range expand to 7 octaves and 8 semitones.
He is humbly dismissive of this astounding fact and stresses that it is not the amount of range you have but in fact how you use it to move people. On top of all this, he embodies every song he sings and always gives 100% for his audience.
He's a genius at mixing genres in a song, a style he himself refers to himself as neo-classic. He has won many prestigious awards.
He speaks Kazakh and Russian, and is studying English and Mandarin which he says is a difficult language to learn but he's doing well with it.

On May 24th, 2021 Dimash celebrated his 27th birthday. At 22 he was invited as a wild card to participate in I Am a Singer, a Chinese competition show for professional singers. He ultimately placed second because at the time the rules of the show disallowed anyone who wasn't Chinese to take first place. The show catapulted him to relative stardom worldwide and he became a pop superstar in China.
He is also famous in Russia for his neoclassical work with famous Russian/Ukrainian composer and arranger Igor Krutoy who came out of retirement to collaborate with Dimash. Igor has written songs for Dimash and arranged previously composed music specifically for Dimash. He is often at the piano for many of Dimash's performances.
Dimash has since introduced pop songs in Russia as well. He was on a solo world tour when the pandemic struck. There are several full concerts available to watch online. His concerts are usually around 2 ½ hours with an eclectic mix of vocal styles and genres. He was born into a musical family and both of his parents are famous singers and musicians in Kazakhstan, his mother being an operatic soprano.
Although offered a position at the Astana Opera, he decided to carve out his career in contemporary music, mixing classical elements and traditional Kazakh music with pop music.
He gained significant popularity in Kazakhstan and other post-Soviet countries in 2015 upon becoming the Grand Prix winner of Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, Belarus. He rose to fame in China with his participation as a "wildcard competitor" in Hunan TV's Singer 2017 finishing second overall.
Although he works with producers, promoters and music labels in other countries his music is produced and distributed through his own company called Dimashali Creative Center.
Dimash plays seven instruments: piano, drums, guitar, keyboard, dombra (the most popular Kazakh instrument, like a lute), marimba (like a xylophone), and bayan (which is like an accordion).
Dimash is most widely known through his live performances and has released several albums, the first one going platinum in 37 seconds in China and triple platinum in less than an hour.
It has been widely recognized that his high notes are not whistle tones but head voice. Dimash rarely uses his whistle register but when he does it is spectacular.

Who is he.... the best in the world and this video was in 2017 when he was only 22. Now at 27 you will not believe what he can do. Try Ikanaide which he sang for the Japanese Jazz Festival from a studio due to covid restrictions. It is so stunningly beautiful that you will be speechless. He also sings in English so in time you will see many languages, so many genres, so many unbelievable performances. Top it off with the fact that he his so so humble and appreciative of everyone. He is classically trained. He is our Kazakh prince.

The song is one of the saddest songs I’ve ever heard. I saw your emotion and saw how Dimash was able to give you some of the transference of saddens from it. You asked if he was an opera singer. This song sos had at least 4 genres in it. They call it popopera. Dimash has between 7 and 8 octaves. Because of that range nobody need ask what his genre is because he can and does every genre he wants to including heavy metal. Rap. Opera, rock, symphonic metal, traditional from his country which his goal is to mix that with pop. There’s so many good things from this one person that it takes a long time to find out about him. He started at 2 yrs old and is 27 now. He has been in the music business for 25 yrs in his doctorate now. If you go to his channel using his name he has just so many live videos. He’s worth this rabbit hole. I wish I could just talk forever to tell you all the wonderful things about Dimash. Here is this pretty amazing person that has all this talent and is a humble and decent person. The song is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi, a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan. She became famous in China.
