Small controls tip: For both the hacking and flying in the gundam, you can use the right thumbstick to aim without moving which makes it a lot easier. Might be a bit hard to get used to at first, not everyone is good at using both sticks at the same time but keep at it. And a useful combo the game never explains: Press the button for pod-shooting and the jump button at the same time (So X + R1) , the pod will fling you up into the air. When doing this in front of an enemy it will also kick them in the air so you can attack it in the air for a bit so it's great for fights. But it's also required for some of the very long distance jumps as you can do it after a double jump and then chain it with a dash and the pod-floating thing to reach a platform far away. Also I noticed you said something about it getting too difficult when you played before so you should look into upgrading the weapons and how to do the chips (NPC in the resistance camp explains it). Since levelling doesn't really do much, you mostly get more powerful from better weapons and chips. I'd recommend buying the storage increases to the max so you can install more chips, and to use the shockwave chips to add a ranged effect on your sword swing for sure. Fun playthrough so far, looking forward to the rest! This is one of those few special games you wish you could forget to experience it all over again but you can't... so you watch first playthroughs from other people. 🤣
It just so happens I've been compiling a "movie" for this game for my GF to watch, because we've been watching through the first NieR (on the PS3) and are about to finish, and I'm trying to make sure I get as much of the content together for her as possible, cutting out farming and whatnot. Using mostly my gameplay, but weaving in both perspectives at the same time. It's a long trip. What I can say is to do as many side quests as available at any given time, because they can be cut off. And if characters are talking during travel or during a fight, don't run/fight too fast or else it'll be cut off. Hacking also cuts off dialogue. You won't get it back. It'll just skip to the next line. And if you value dialogue during quests, then it's always good to save before talking to a quest person, because if you have the materials they want already, it'll skip all that.
