I watched this interview years ago. Had to come back and watch it following the sad news. Warney meant a lot to the cricket world. Thanks for the memories Shane.
Always knew he was a great cricketer but since his loss, having watched the interviews with Leigh Sales, Tracey Holmes and now this I didn't realise, even with his failings along the way, he was just a really good bloke ... talented beyond compare but still humble and self effacing ... if there is a God, in today's world, there's so many he could knock over with a heart attack and we'd be screaming with joy ... as it is we've missed out big time ...
@@captpicard6894 ❤️. Would pick Shane any day of the week. Think he could bowl half of any team out...plus I am biased. I lived in London in the early 90s, and watched him in his pomp. Warnie gave so much pleasure - you know if he was on, Australia could come back from any position!!? Since he retired, and subsequently passed, never really had a thrill for cricket again. One in a billion, God given talent, and his own Aussie grit!!! Tc
@@alisher126 totally agree, with Warney in the side even if all the batsmen failed and he was bowling to a total of 150 or less to win on the last day of the test, you always felt he could get 6-30 and basically win the game single-handed.
RIP Sir Michael Parkinson (March 28, 1935 - August 16, 2023), aged 88 And RIP Shane Warne (September 13, 1969 - March 4, 2022), aged 52 You both will be remembered as legends.
A sad sad day for everyone with a passing interest in cricket, whether they realise it or not. The greatest bowler of all time if not greatest cricketer of thrm all. Bowled Warnie! RIP.
What a brilliant interview by both parties - the best in history at their trades. Brutally honest and a wonderfully personal insight into the mind and personality of the greatest bowler that cricket has ever seen. Bravo and kudos to both men. Parkinson reminds us all of what the art of interviewing is all about, as compared to the fatuous publicity shows that masquerade as interviews today. Just compare this to any episode of Graham Norton's drivel.
Parko over-rode so many opportunities to let Warne and his other guests elaborate, just when they were heading towards critical points. This was a great example. He had no feel. A control freak turning the interview toward himself.
That year out of the game gifted him the longevity to become a true legend of the sport though the vanity, my mum gave me it, excuse is absolutely absurd.

Ah, stick to your boring wendyball. Soccer is a crap sport for dullards.
Pip pip!
Two of my favourite individuals. RiP both..you gave me much joy over the years in your fields of excellence

@M ... umm, wtf has all that got to do with anything relating to Shane Warne ??
@M
Wow, you're dull. Move on. There's nothing for you here.
Obvs there isn't a god. It's science.
The good die young. The wicked live long and suffer. Bowled Shane RIP.
Leigh Sales???? You poor fool
He was so honest about his mistakes and humble about his success. Flawed but human as we all are
Best spin bowler of all time, chatting with the best chat show host of all time, about the best sport of all time. Heaven😁😁😁😁
Best cricketer of all time, mate

Interesting question, if you had to pick one player from any era to strengthen your side, who would you pick:-Bradman, Sobers, or Warne?

Here sits the greatest leg spin bowler of cricketing history. thank you Parky for the extended interview.
Interesting, intelligent, charming and very humble. Very sad that he died so young.

Bowled Warnie!
RIP.
Brilliant! That was intriguing. Warne , we all know, was one of the all time greats. However, he really came across as a decent and good man.
Fantastic guy..sadly missed..the charity work was awesome..thank u Shane..
This was really good thanks for uploading

Fully agree
RIP Shane. It was an awesome privilege to watch you
Thank you for all the memories shane, watching you bowl was one of my favourite things in life.
Reunited in heaven
Best captain Australia NEVER had and should have.
Rest easy brother 🙏♥️
Shane Warne, any time, all the time 💗 Love this guy 💖
get a life
Only lasted 15 years post cricket
Summer in Oz..cricket, still miss the Shane Warne factor, in a world of whirling crap..a nice guy..great interview...
I met shane and he was the best.
Shane Warne is such a good guy and an awesome cricketer
R.I.P. Warnie 🏏🇦🇺🙏
He's missed here in England too, mate. Some folk transcend sporting rivalry.
Best wishes.
Lived 1000 lives in his life. RIP Warney
Shane Warne, what a phenomenonal leg-spin bowler he was. Shane could turn the outcome of a match on it's head, single-handedly.
My favourite Aussie only wished he was English RIP Shane
Excellent interview. Sad that they have both gone
The word ! Legend ! Only one Shane Warne !
'he thought it was a cold beer so he dived for it!:
RIP legend
I love that line haha, brilliant
RIP both!!! Going to ask his friend Geoffrey boycott in October 😢
Oh yes Shane, like that Shane
Thank you 😅.
GOAT

Parky used to sledge Australia calling it bad winners because of Shane going off after match’s.
Good on him
I’m eternally grateful Jimmy Anderson didn’t overtake his wicket tally. It’s as if the selectors had too much respect for the history books.
At least Parky was a cricket tragic of the best kind
❤💔🏏
Absolute genius..end of.
He laughs off the canings in school but it just sounds horrible . I don't know how someone can do that to another human being
That year out of the game gifted him the longevity to become a true legend of the sport though the vanity, my mum gave me it, excuse is absolutely absurd.
Excess deaths
I think so, taken out by a bunch of Mongrel Politicians ....
