absolutely awesome video,i am a Dominican from the village of Trafalgar but i live in Berlin with my wife,we are going back there next month ,and just saw this beautiful video of my homeland gives me so much energy to going home next month.thanks so much for such a beautiful video of my home God bless you guys always.Jah love
Lanna Mullens Thank you for your comment. I am so glad you liked it. But in person, Dominica is that much more beautiful. Hope you're able to go soon. Cheers.
Well done!! That is better than anything I have seen to promote the island. The government should be using your video for tourism. You captured some of the most amazing places on the island and make me want to go back immediately. Great job.
Hello Aliyah, I have had the pleasure and privilege to have visited almost all the caribbean islands. Dominica is my favorite!! You'll be happy to know that Dominica, although very beautiful, is not expensive. If you eat at the restaurants in hotels, you'll pay more. But if you eat where locals eat, very very cheap. I like stopping at road side eateries where I usually can eat a plate of rice, lentils, and chicken for less than $7 US. The best hotel in the island (in my opinion), is the Fort Young Hotel. It is an old fort turned into hotel right on the water and in the heart of downtown, Roseau....close to everything. You can expect to pay about $130/night but that's right over the water where you hear the waves at night. I think it is very reasonable compared to most other caribbean destinations. Hope you can go someday and enjoy my favorite island in the caribbean.
Tad! This is Steph. I don't know how I missed this one--but it is beautiful! They just keep getting better and better. Anything with Gabriel and I'm emotional.
Hope you never get tired of visiting Dominica. I've been there over 10 times and she always surprises me with something new. Sadly, Hurricane Maria really devastated these islands. But no worries. She and her people will bounce back better than ever. Cheers.
Thanks, Mike. Dominica is a beautiful place and a photographer's and filmmaker's paradise. I know you'll truly enjoy it. I used a Phantom 2 with a Hero 4 Black. I am now using DJI's latest Mavic Pro. I absolutely love this little guy. Wish I had him in Dominica. What will you be flying?
I can't wait. Ill be using the gopro on the 3DR solo and plan to get some good shots. I upgraded a couple things and love flying it. Mavic looks pretty good too. Is there a particular part of the island you recommend staying on?
Yes. Absolutely. I would stay at the Fort Young Hotel in Roseau for several reasons. 1. Very central with many diverse attractions within easy driving distance. 2. Fort Young is the nicest hotel on the island in my opinion and best of all, it is not very expensive. Highly recommend getting the rooms overlooking the ocean. Worth every penny. Sounds of the waves lapping and the view makes it a most memorable stay. Good luck and cheers.
This is a beautiful video! My mother is from this country and we are taking a family trip back to her homeland this summer. Would you please tell me where did you stay? Is it a rental home?
Hello Tara. Beautiful indeed. I usually stay at the Fort Young Hotel in Roseau (which is where I stayed for this video). I believe this to be the nicest most reasonable hotel in the island. You would also be very centrally located. Look them up on their website and see for yourself. Cheers.
Amazing video! Thanks for sharing. I saw in other comments that you’ve been to St Lucia as well. How would you compare both islands? Which is more beautiful and more worthy to visit if I had to choose? From the videos I’ve seen, I could say that St Lucia is more developed and has a lot of nature as well. Thanks in advance :)
Hello Ahmed, Both St. Lucia and Dominica are beautiful rugged mountainous volcanic islands with beautiful waterfalls and landscapes. You're correct; St. Lucia is more developed/wealthy, so, you'll find more resort choices. Dominica is more unspoiled beauty. It is nature in the raw and it has been said to be the only island that Christopher Columbus would recognize if he were to return in modern times. It's a tough choice but I guess it depends on what you're looking for. Hikers and adventure seekers love Dominica. Lovers and honeymooners love St Lucia. You can't go wrong either way. Good luck. Cheers.
Thank you! I shot with a Panasonic GH4 with metabones speed booster adapter for my canon lenses that included a 50mm 1.8F, Sigma 17-55 2.8F, and several Rokinon lenses (20mm and 80mm, 1.5T). All shot in 4k 24fps.
Wonderful video of Dominica. Was wondering if you would give me permission to use a couple of your clips to put together with a song I wrote. Thank you so much for those beautiful shots
It will be on my fb page and youtube. There was a storm there last year at this time and I just want to do something positive for my home. It will be free for everyone to look at.
That's awesome, Desi. Yes, I know about the storm. It was quite devastating. I have friends in Dominica that really suffered in the Trafalgar valley area. I personally saw the many bridges down when I was there in June. You absolutely have my permission to use any part of my video for this endeavor. If you like, include credit to my name and a link to my video so that others can enjoy the beauty of Dominica as I filmed it. But if you think that inserting a link and/or adding credit, will distract from your message, you may omit the credit and link. God bless.

I've been to Dominica 5 times, each time is more beautiful and fun than the last.....sixth and last time will be next year...or will it be?
Hope you never get tired of visiting Dominica. I've been there over 10 times and she always surprises me with something new. Sadly, Hurricane Maria really devastated these islands. But no worries. She and her people will bounce back better than ever. Cheers.
Awesome video. It got me excited to go there next month. Im bringing my drone also. I was wondering which drone you used.

Wonderful video of Dominica. Was wondering if you would give me permission to use a couple of your clips to put together with a song I wrote. Thank you so much for those beautiful shots
Hello Desi. Where will you be playing these clips with your song?
Yes was planning to put them in with some other footage I've received from a friend there and other places
Awesome. But where will the song/video be played? Church? TH-cam? Vimeo? Locally in Dominica?
It will be on my fb page and youtube. There was a storm there last year at this time and I just want to do something positive for my home. It will be free for everyone to look at.
