Update: Thanks for all the feedback, guys! For clarification, this was a recruitment piece for middle schools. We were all seniors at the time. This routine was choreographed by us. We probably only spent 4 hours total choreographing and practicing so it was very thrown together, hence the mistakes. We appreciate the feedback and hope you enjoyed watching it!

bruh at everyone "cringing" at the boy calm yalls selves he had a very limited time to learn all of this and i know dang well if you've ever done guard y'all know it takes time to memorize that much i'm proud of him
Same but at my school he would have been cut
it does take a while to memorize stuff
@@daniellelopez3683 it takes 1 week tops to memories 1 movement in a show to 2-3 minutes of work
@@ashtonsumpter676 thast like the same at my school were really competitive with everything.
So glad i dont go to a different school. Mine has a small team, but we try hard.
that poor dude was sailing most of the time i feel his pain.
I know right
What's is a sail? I'm sorry I'm not I'm color guard so idk
Bryseida Villalobos Mendoza basically when the silk of the flag wraps around or gets stuck on the pole
+Queen Eugene Yeah I learn that today I asked this guy who in color guard n he told me but thx anyways
Lauren Cloud I know I could feel his disappointment
i think the guy did really good! its just spots here and there. c'mon, it happens to all of us. i was watching your guys' flag routine and that gave me some ideas for my little flag routine since our band is playing counting stars for football games and stuff, im the only flag girl and I've never done this before so this gave me some ideas! thank you for uploading this!!
I'm in guard and like half the boys think it's easy so I made one of them do the routine and he struggled. I laughed ......
+Sparkle Fairy its called you hade practice he didnt and guys most of the time and throw it higher our proble is the catching part so yeah lol
You go girl tell them who's boss
At first I thought it wasn't very good, then I read that the description said it was done in a total of four hours. Holy shit. That is fucking incredible for four hours and there's no way in hell half the people commenting would've been able to pull it off that cleanly in only four hours
Whoever that opening solo dancer was, you were werking me out, girl! Beautiful calypso. I loved it though overall! :D
Those kids were so rude, they didn't applaud or cheer when they did something impressive. They just sat there like logs...
Thank you! Every time my guard and I do something well we always get applause! These kids probably just stared at them with a blank expression.
The reason why they didn't do it because they don't know anything about guard or it's probably their first time watching the guard
colorguardwith brandon But those kids knew that it was a performance, they could have been more polite to clap when something impressive was shown.
I know, right! They didn't even really clap at the end. It's a performance, people, you're supposed to clap.
+thekeoppel lol what
thats amazing!!! im very impressed with the male who was sailing almost the whole time but fought through and tried his best! i could never do that in as little as 4 hours this is incredable
He was watching so hard....
I know right it's annoying me
OMG THIS IS SO AMAZING!!!! I swear, I actually started crying, I was so awed. I think its wonderful. I'm in my third year of guard CX
Everyone keeps saying that only the boy needs work and yeah he does but the girls where not counting and it showed
The girl on the fifty was giving it to me but the guy seemed kinda lost
1 THAT WAS SO COOL
2 THOSE SILKS ARE SO PRETTY
3 I felt so bad for the boy he looked really nervous
U do color guard in middle school! ????
Yes! So does my guard! Go watch on my channel out JV! There were 5 high schoolers! (Not me )
THE RIFLE TOSS ! last year my band did The Great Gatsby and our soloist did a similar toss with 7 rotations he was a guy too. BRAVO👌
for the guy, i understand why he might've messed up. I know a friend who wanted to do guard but dropped out before we could start our performance because people were calling him gay for joining all because there wasn't any dudes. That boy was probably super nervous and could've been in first year. As you can see from the description, they also didnt have enough time practicing so there comes in the mistakes. Color guard is difficult honestly. I might look easy but coming from someone who has been in it for almost two years now, it is super difficult. But notice how even though he kept messing up, he kept going. That is the hardest part of guard. When you mess up you just want to quit but you're going to always be told to keep goin. Proud of Kevin for continuing!
his sails makes me cringe but all in all it was very good
@kevinwadman you're perfect! Don't let people discourage you. I SUCK at learning new work and its so hard for it to stick in my head and commit to memory as much as I practice it, its hard to remember. The fact that you learned it 2 days before and still went out there and performed your heart out shows you ARE committed. People keep saying its bc you're a boy but I'm not a boy and I have the same problem but we still try and push ourselves no matter how mad we get. I understand. It has nothing to with gender because there are so many successful and wonder male performers. You're great and did great! Don't worry about people it was just obvious since there was only 3 people. I hate changes and new work I can relate to you so no worries
I'm in guard ad I noticed the boy was behind on a few parts or was al little slow in some areas, but other than that it was really cool
That could be from his flag wrapping, it throws off the balance. I thought it was pretty good
yes his flag kept getting wrapped around the pole that happens to me and it does throw me off as well but they did awesome! 😁
That happend to me during tryouts😁 I hate when the flag gets caught up like that
read the description.
They did really well for four hours!
I really love this choreography! Good work!
that looks like some very fresh choreography but awesome job
Very good! I couldn't even tell it was a junior high guard. (:
I don't think it was a Jr. High I think they were showcasing color guard for auditions for when middle schoolers come up :p
this is pretty good for middle school level! I didn't do color guard until high school
I feel bad for the boy because his silk kept stripping which is hard to fix quickly when you're not very experienced
the guy needs cleaning but otherwise it was awesome!
My guard uses the same silks for our 2018-19 field show.
That was fucking amazing. I want to join guard really bad but I dont know if ill make it. I don't have like anything to practice with. :c
Well they usually teach you
Jeffrey Woods I've never done guard before and I don't have my own equipment, but my school lets us rent flags from the guard room for try-outs to take home and practice. Plus, there will not only be a guard instructor but other guard members who have been in guard before that can teach you. My auditions are today. Don't let it scare you away.
do it! !
Kind of a late update, but I made it :D I'm in my first ever Winter Guard season and our first competition is in a week. I love it :D
+Arianna Deluna congrats are you in highschool? or are you in a independent guard
I think they did good, I was on guard in high school and I learned a routine in one day, yes I did mess up, but it’s okay, we all mess up especially learning a routine in one or two days or the day of the performance
Classic performance! Nice work ladies and gentleman.
I love this routine. It was amazing to me my only problem is not being together and the boy looking around and a couple mess ups but due to the short time-frame he said he learned this as a color-guard captain i applaud them!
Somebody please teach that cute boy hkw to catch a rifle.
HAHAHAHAHA Tru doe
The DD Prince same
The DD Prince and how to properly dip
The DD Prince he did good, shut up lol, im in color guard too. he did pretty damn good.
read the description
Dont ever make a routine look like you just learned it. no matter what, count, focus, keep it together. Practice, practice, practice.
I’ll give him point for trying even though he fail but point for trying
Omg the guy through it all off !!!!!
the guy was totally lost
calm down. im also in colorguard. i was just saying how he wasnt very on point with his counts.
***** k then
***** Guys are usually in color guard, check out James logan world guard
ikr Azariah Hill
***** nah guys are in guard :) we have 3. But in all honesty, you should never, EVER watch someone that much. Out of the corner of your eye, yes. But nothing you do should ever be a reaction to what someone else is doing. Know your work.
This was not clean what so ever. I'm in guard and we won state we mess up every now and then but i think it should've been cleaned up and the boy needs to focus on NOT getting a sail.
In the description it says they only had practiced for maybe 4 hours... So it would've been hard to be perfect
I loved the choreography and was this a recruitment performance for the middle school? Ladies you did an excellent job! Now.......This wasn't very well rehearsed! The boy was all over the place and don't get me started on technique issues! BOYS should spin a rifle with NO PROBLEM!!!! Seriously! With that aside! Very fun routine! Peace!
In the description box she says that this was thrown together in 4 hours. Now sure he needs to work on his tosses and catches.
Why should just boys spin a rifle with no problem?
This is going to sound so weird and nobody will probably notice but my guard had those silks for this season that is so cool I always wondered who had out silks before us
Poor boy got a sail and was a bit behind, he caught up in no time and was outstanding! Good job!
The boy struggled but c'mon that happens to all of us plus its not like he's gonna die if he makes mistakes
I wish that we had guys in our color guard but none of them will because they think it is gay. I like this but I think the guy needed to work on the routine a little more so they could all be together.
Amazing!!
i was cringing the whole time at the boy😂😂
Joshy Jaguar ......he learned it in two days I think it’s pretty good don’t be a dick.
@Kevin Wadman
Hey, don't worry about what everyone else is saying because if you just learned the routine two days prior it's actually pretty good. It takes me at least a couple days to learn new routines and I still have trouble. I'm also really jealous because my guard team doesn't have a guy. We want a guy to join so badly.
@kevinwadman I feel your pain especially with the annoying sails
More practice and less screaming.
learning all that work in two days im surprised all you did was mess up a few times lol im a little slow on learning too hehe but it is what it is great performance btw ^-^
My school has those silks too but we use them for practices
Like it very much! 👍👍
The boy was mad relatable
ONLY FOUR HOURS????
This is my favorite routine out there
how about you watch all saonts color guard look out for the girl who does a torn around on f
Riffle and Flag
+Kara Foster this was Months ago and I don't even know what that means
+Sarah Laduke it means look at all saints color guard
+Kara Foster okay
+Sarah Laduke watching this again it's not that good
I didn't like it
oh wow amazing I wish I could do it
This is still my fav routine
the dude was so confused lmao
That is awesome
Tht was so amazing. Only the boy needs to work on not getting a sail. :)
read the description.
Pop Tart Just because they practiced for four hours doesn't mean he should get a sail.
It really bothered me because when they tossed they put their hands down.
1:13 = amazing
the boy needs work. he also needs to know that spinning a flag is like driving on a 2 way street he needs to learn proper motion and technique. the girls were great!
oh ya
4 hours give the boy a break
That was my school
the boy in the middle on rifle was watching, he didnt know what to do. (my 2nd year of guard)
He only had 4 hours to learn it, you don't need to point out others imperfections. He did the best he could.
Pop Tart I was just sayin' I guess it's habit because my coach is a hard-ass and basically kills anyone who watches.
Grace Schlimpert when i was on guard my choreographer was lazy with her work, never showed up, and when she did she would yell at us
Casey Freeman I don't see how that contributes to anything that we said...
Grace Schlimpert well i meant to say basically my coach was the same when i was on it, but my coach was different from yours
Yikes...I don't need to say it. We all have eyes. I know this was years ago, but this is why you go to rehearsal. No matter how much time you have you make it work, and don't let them see you sweat. Also, his rifle is done. It's rounded out to hell. He's not that bad though. Just needs to practice more.
he did great for a boy
uhh, he did great period. not for a boy, not for a girl. he did great for only learning it four hours before.
That guy looked so lost he was trying to not make it obvious but u could see tht he was lost and that he was just trying to catch up but he didn't. BUT HE DID KINDA GOOD BUT HE SUCKS
he had to memorize that in two days lolololll i so cri if i were him i wouldn't show up because I'd probably only memorize the first 30 counts or less to be honest haha
