Also, potential members interested in membership keep in mind that when we say membership is for life that means that after a person joins as an undergrad and graduates it is also hoped and expected that you will transfer to a graduate chapter asap. Membership does mean once a member always a member, unless one is expelled, but if you join and go MIA it's like you never joined to begin with and aren't as asset to the organization, at least not financially. Membership is the strength of the organization. Yes life happens. Grad chapters need Sorors who have graduated to transfer in to continue and enhance the great and needed work of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated in communities around the world.

During this pandemic is there active groups being brought in? I will be graduating in a few weeks and I have been interested for years but going to school online did not give me the option to go undergrad.
Unfortunately I am not sure how each chapters are working. You can go to the National website and see how Zeta is addressing the pandemic. Most likely they are not holding intakes, but I would double check that. 💙
Hi Crystal! :-) I don't think attending an online school would prevent you from joining. What sororities are looking for is the right accreditation. As long as your school is properly accredited, and recognized the be U.S Department of Education, I don't think it would matter. But then again that's just my understanding lol Don't quote me....

Thank you for this great information! I just graduated from my undergrad and was interested in joining a graduate chapter. My question is with Covid going on how can I express my interest in the organization since there are no physical meetings?
Hi Arianna, I would say the best way to express your interest during these times is to get in contact with he chapter via social media; face, instagram etc and ask for a point of contact. Once you get a point of contact (which should be the president or the VP) express your interest to them. I hope this helps! Thank you for watching and supporting my channel.

Hi! Yes, so when I say go to the local chapter I mean the one most accessible to you. You can actually go on the Zeta website and see the chapters near you or use Facebook. You express interest in a very straight forward way. You get in touch with the chapters point of contact and say you are interested in learning more about the chapter and what it does for the community. Good morning Miss Lyn, yes you can still try to join but service is a HUGE part of Zeta. Our motto is we are a community conscious action oriented organization.
When you say go through MIP process, is that like applications and interviews, or when you actually learn about the organization?
If you are going through the MIP you are learning about the org, bonding with your line sisters and more that you will experience when you are going through it.
I have both undergraduate and graduate degree (as of 2019) and I'm 45, it's that little too late? My daughter is a Zeta and has told me nothing but great things about the Finer Women...

Hey! So this is pretty easy. You can go one or both routes. The first one being finding their social media and messaging them. The second would be going on the national website to find the POC for the chapter you are interested in and write them an email. I hope this helps 💙

I have always wanted to join a sorority but while I was in college I felt like the girls (not the sorority) didn’t mesh well with who I was and I rather join from another school. But fast forward now I am graduated I’m not stable esp with this virus going on and I’m looking to join the AF idk if I can still join grad chapter while being enlisted or if I would have to do it beforehand
Yes, you can join a grad chapter while you are enlisted-- comes down to if there is a chapter(s) near where you are stationed and your time management. You can also join beforehand, however the AF will pick you up and put you wherever they need you so be aware that unless you go Guard or Reserves you face a possibility of not being anywhere near the grad chapter you joined.

I would advise you to work on raising your GPA first
Is it acceptable to attend two different information meetings with different chapters? (Same organization)
Yes, shop around for the best chapter for you.
I graduate in May from Strayer would I be able to attend a informational meeting now or do I have to wait?
You can attend an informational anytime after you have earned you degree.

I am not sure of the process because I didn’t charter a chapter.

Yes as long as its from an accredited institution.
Do grad chapters have MIP throughout the year or is it like the undergrad chapters where they have to have one per semester?
Well in the grad chapter world there is no semester, however they may hold them twice a year like one in the winter another in the spring.
What if you're already an Soror that was made as an undergrad, but life happened and you became inactive for several years. Can you just become active again without joining a Grad chapter?
Well you are encouraged to be connected to a grad chapter but if there are none around you you can definitely be active with the org as a whole.

Since you are a graduate you could enter a grad chapter. However since you would be enrolled as an undergrad I would guess you would pursue undergrad. I would ask the undergrad advisor to be sure.

Usually grad chapters do not have line jackets.

You can reach out to your local chapter for more information. As far as I know you would still be able to join no matter how long its been.

How many hours of community service would you recommend?
I didn't have a lot of hours. I actually do not remember tracking them. I transitioned from undergrad to grad. I would recommend getting as involved as possible.
Is it a requirement to join a grad chapter within the city I live in?
No it is not a requirement, but they do encourage you to so that you are involved with your local community.

You should ask the chapter president. It has changed since I joined.

Do grad chapters have probates?
No because probates are a coming out to the student body at college or university. Grad chapters usually have a party/celebration for the new members.
