The 1990-1993 passenger door panel has a hidden screw under the window switch. The window switch can be removed with two small screwdrivers. Gently pry the switch out of the door panel. In the hole where the switch was should be a 7-mm screw. This screw goes into a bracket that is held with a screw to the door panel. Be sure to check this bracket before reinstalling the door panel. Many brackets are missing or loose. This is also a good indication if the door panel was removed previously. It is a good idea to put this screw back in place. You can capture the screw in a 7-mm socket with some masking tape or electrical tape. This makes installing the screw in the recess much easier.
JUst bought some new door panels from Top Flight Automotive. The door panel has been modified where you must remove the screw and bracket as there is no where to attach the screw. Plus, if you try to put new panel in with the bracket in place, panel sticks out to far to fit correctly. I guess this a good thing but......I like OEM originality even if it was difficult or flawed.
Between your video, a 70+, a newbie wrencher, and my daughter, we were able to fix the problem the former owner created when he failed to put this screw in. It was the screw you missed in the video that is behind the window switch after you remove it. Thanks again and now to fix the passenger lock from being sticky.
I have a Porsche, had a second Porsche, and had an Audi. I've done work to all of them but extensive work to my current Porsche, but it was a lot easier to work on than the Vette.
Easiest way to change a taillight bulb is to find a person with skinny arms and small hands. A slim 10 - 16 year old girl or boy can be successful with the least effort.
That’s funny bcuz that same screw is already broken on my door! matter fact that’s the reason I’m watching this video is because I’m trying to fix it because it holds the handle that you used to open and close the door… so it really sucks. I have to fix it!!
Hey man my door won't shut , it's the latch but tried the key trick and still won't do anything , also can't open the door from the outside please help
someblindkhaos i can't tell what's wrong without seeing it in real life but you should start by taking the door panel off and seeing if any of the rods are disconnected, or lubricate the latch, or take the latch off and examine it, maybe a spring broke or something else broke in it.

Did you like the new panels? I'm thinking of ordering new ones as well
@@celestinoprien3387 I didn't order or replace the door panels, just the anchor nuts. You may have intended to reply to @RM-gv2yv

Thanks man, probably watched your video twice now, need to this again for window felt.
Adding the model year to the description would help as there are different C4 door panels.
I feel your frustration. Thank you for doing this

Does anyone know if the 94-96 door panels would fit properly on a 93?
Thank you !
nice video, So how do you get to the bolt that broke off on you?
thanks, no idea haha, probably pop the bottom of the panel and reach in

Yo is there a hatch release on both sides on the door panel?
Oh man. Did you try changing the tail lights or removing the rear bumper? PAIN.

Did you disconnect the battery first?
Not necessary for the door panel
Wait till you try to change the tail light bulbs ...what engineer thought this one up for GM lol
I sold the car long before I could find any more stuff wrong with it haha.
The bolt behind the mirror switch is only on the passenger side. Driver's side door doesn't have that bolt. Thanks for the video.
Damn....thanks five years later.
7mm nut driver, or 7mm socket on 1/4" extension. use a magnetic retriever to get the screw out from behind the door panel.

If anyone can make something this complicated its GM haha

The squeaks, while working on A Corvette sound strange.
Don't follow his instructions. You don't have to take everything apart. Remove screws that holds the panel and unplug the wiring from underside
The car being expensive when it was new the door panel design is sooo cheap !
You're probably right about that, so we might not want to paint all of GM with such a wide brush, eh? ;-)
good ol' GM, could they have made a simple task more fiddly ;-}
Door panel
cheap design
