    Hey Andrew I like your Chanel. Contact buckle guys they have a wonderful tool for copper rivets I have the 3 types In my shop and I love them. Also this is my two cents if you put a leather washer under you will find that the rivet doesn’t damage the leather over time.

    Try using the round end of you bullpen hammer for your rivets you're will get a more vintage, homemade, cool look

    Hi I appreciate making something without test fitting. Conway buckles are a good choice, I didn't know copper are available. Regarding rivet setters. McMaster Carr has setters, Ohio Travel Bag (OTB) also has the copper rivet setters and other setters. I've found that the OTB Jiffy Rivet setter work good for creating a good dome: ohiotravelbag.com/collections/tools/products/t-1316.
