In whole honesty, when it ended I felt the exact same as Annus. I was euphoric. It was one of my fav channels of all time so you’d think I’d miss it (heck I even thought about watching a vid in celebration after I woke up, before laughing and remembering that it’s not there 😅) but I don’t feel a drop of longing for it to still be here. All I felt last night was pride and excitement. Pride over all they did(oops all bangers), and after noticing my feelings I felt proud of myself too. I was truly at terms with it, which was my goal for the year. I’ve always struggled with the concept that we only have so much time and I won’t be able to do everything. My goal was to not be sad or hold onto any vids. I’m genuinely happy, which is more than I thought would happen. Sitting in front of my computer after it ended I said goodnight to my sister who was there with me. Call me dramatic but after she left I smiled and said “Goodnight Unus Annus.” The night before last is when I thought it hit me, because I panicked and couldn’t sleep, but no. When it truly hit me sometime last night, when I truly realized “oh it’s ending” I grew excited and couldn’t wait for the end to come. Excited for what happens next after the end of this great era. I don’t watch either Mark or Ethan individually but I’m gonna check them out as well as all the collab people. A farewell note I wrote last night: “Goodnight Unus Annus 2020 was the perfect year for your life because the point was to make the most of the time you’re given, and by proxy the circumstances you’re given. Make the most of what you’re given is what you taught us. You proved that even in 2020 we could laugh harder than we’d ever laughed before. I will cherish your memory for as long as I go on. I love you. Unus Annus, Memento Mori.”
I get why people are joking that, but if it has to be a real debate.. they aren’t actually worshipping anything, they are just acknowledging death. There is no religious beliefs being enforced, and I’m personally a Christian while they’re Atheists to some extent. And lastly, they aren’t specifically admiring death, they’re just saying live while you can and time will run out soon. So yeah, I guess I see why people are calling it that, but it’s not. Although, I wanna say it’s a cult classic even if it’s getting deleted-

I have a little clock next to my bed and it's constantly ticking...after the live stream I had to bury it under blankets cause it made me cry...
