I think they don't want thp generation to be too plentiful. They had hoards at launch but got rid of them because thp generation negated the damage specials were doing.
@@DarkAllianc3 Seems like upping player controlled damage would work. Specials wipe teams on legend and cata even with large hordes for THP. Not having large hordes makes things hard for pack rats especially

Looks awesome, but I'd love it if Elites/Melee Specials (Chaos Warriors, Stormvermin, Plague Monks, Berserkers, Butchers/Big Axe Norscans, Bestigors) were playable, I think it'd be awesome to punch out Kerilians as a Chaos Warrior.

The rats need at the minimum more hp and the heroes need an aoe spawn denial area around them. Also, maybe the rats should be able to spawn skavenslaves hordes to generate fodder.
@@ThatGuyInTheBack007 Yeah, I managed to get into the test as well for the last two days. Still, when I made the first comment I did not know about the area denial but it still ended up being too short. I killed the heroes well enough spawning close to them as a flame rat.
I just got to play this today and my first impressions are: -Gas rat is way too OP, he can easily deny revives, objectives, and just be a general nuisance. -Flamer rat is terrible, doesn't have any range and can easily be dealt with. -Gunner rat is mid, I think they should buff his damage a smidge. -Assassin and hook rat are great where they are -Really hope we get to play the leech and the storm mage, I think those would be really fun to play as.
To be fair though, you can tell these rat players aren’t really decent players lmao. I can definitely see how the rattling gunner is kind of weak, but the gutter runner is definitely strong and combined with the globadier, is almost broken. You just have to play right and with the team, just like l4d versus. It’s no different
To add on, I think if they add super armor to all rats except for the gutter runner, and allow the globadier to suicide bomb himself, this game mode would be almost entirely balanced

honestly considering the excuse used to justify the different careers, i'm kinda surprised they have a number limit for a character. i think they could further justify it by just saying chaos interference is getting worse, maybe have unique (VERY LIMITED) dialogue depending on team composition, like make a krubersreich 5 (or 4) reference with all of the krubers joining in

Honesty pretty much vermintide 2 base experience. The problem is the difficulty, it is basically the easiest difficulty setting. If it atleast was at the veteran/champion. Then it would be perfect in my opinion. The biggest problem i see is that the human side can just steam roll. There are no Patrols, no Chaos Warriors, no shielded enemies. So yeah, make the overall AI enemies better.
It needs massive balancing tweaks. Ammo and health/healing in the forefront. The biggest problem I see is that unlike L4D, in Vermintide the special get one-shot all the time, which is really not fun for the players using them. There's also a lack of fast desablers, the assassin is the only special capable to shut down another player quickly, the hook rat is too big and slow compared to the Jockey despite filling the same function. The lack of a more tanky unit (like the Charger) also poses problems as the rats have nothing even mildly resilient to engage with. Not being able to use the bosses is a bit desapointing.
I'd like to have hope that it's good, but I think it's little too late. Unless they add crossplay, the matchmaking is gonna be dead within a few weeks. I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt Versus will bring back many players

@@AgniFirePunch Vermintide on console originally came out on XBOX ONE and PS4, they have really weak CPU'S, which is why it runs at 30 fps, but also the lower enemy count on each difficult, in compensation, enemy base health (before difficulty multipliers) is slightly increased. While the increase in Health is relatively easy to work out, the decrease in enemy count is a lot more difficult.
Looks very cool! Hopefully they keep working on it and add more stuff to it! Simple things like stat trackers for rats and a scoring system that shows even little stuff you do through badges(like done a succesfull pounce or direct hit with a globe) can really help the rat side feel more exciting and rewarding even after each death that doesnt result in direct takedowns.
rats should have some abilities too or builds, like gas rat : more radius but less damage or more damage but less radius, or just the standart. Another idea the more safe zones players get more hp and damage rats do
Takes me back to left 4 dead. You really needed to coordinate as the infected to kill the survivors because we were weaker than them... except for the tank. It looks like it won't be that different from back then, except I won't be able to jump off the walls with the assassin.

Could be a cool idea to control a small pack of rat in a 3rd person instead on controlling one rat say you get to control 5 storm vermin they must stay huddle together and you can instruct them to charge and attack a chosen hero or who ever is nearest now it would be light work for any hero to easily take down a pack of storm vermin with relative ease cause of training and pathing but when you get a person to control some key rats and put them into favorable positions could be neat blend of gameplay with pov mixed in with the other rats
main problem i see is if your range skaven you go down in like one hit! cause seems like they don't have any melee up front but the packmaster and still thats not much so you can't really do much SETUP TIME! cause if your a gattling or fire bat your pretty much the front line. and i don't think giving them more HP would be a good idea for free what needs to happen is there needs to be chaos warriors and some more armored units and clearly a rat tank or something that can give the range some setup time.
I love seeing people finally talk about what ive been saying for years, vs mode will not favor the pact sworn in any way and it will heavily lean towards the heroes. This playtest as well only has level 1 heroes with default gear, imagine when it drops and players with all reds hop on? Also the current difficulty in VS mode is veteran which is another bit in which would balance towards the heroes, the vs game modes difficulty needs to be champion at the lowest or legend at the highest since that is what the player base plays on the most and give the pactsworn a chance.

Are they going to add the Lifeleech, Blightstormer and Boss as playable characters because I expected that as a minimum. Looks great though but you need 3 incap units and the game only has 2 right now which is weird. The entire point of this mode is being bale to simultaneously incap 3 players and the 4th has to save them while dealing with a ranged unit or a pest like character from L4D2 like the boomer. I personally think they need to add something like a boomer to the game and should bring back the bomb carrier variant but make sure they can't spawn close to players.

This is going to screw up cooperative play, the normal game mode. The characters are going to end up getting nerfed and/or the rats will be buffed, and the people that have no interest in versus gameplay are going to be really irritated.

There's a weird disconnect I feel in having players sit on objectives for points though, you should just run through the level tbh and even with that I do find it odd how much it holds your hand with showing markers and points as you go? Hmmm... Even the scoreboard seems like it could do with work. Biggest feeling so far though is WHERE is all the normal rats to make plays off of? It is very empty at the moment. Hp for the specials seems honestly fine, its the lack of common trash to cause issues for the other team that feels more so the issue. Though with that being said at least you ACTUALLY go through the level - unlike back 4 blood...

This really has the general feel of L4D versus. With all this stuff added it would be impossible for heroes. People will than say yeah, but with higher skill hero players the heroes will have an even easier time, but people will also learn to play skaven better and to better coordinate attacks. It seems to be really fine. Hope devs don't take such doofus comments into too much regard. Edit: I'll concede that the globardier needs the suicide skill and that flame rat seems to be garbage. I guess mini bosses will be playable at some point, but still, constantly spawning 4 specials while there is a tank around is pretty messed up in the right hands.
Needs more AI melee rats so that the Ubersreik 5 don’t just all take sniper characters every match and dunk on the specials

During the test it was LOS(line of sight) and slight area of denial for spawn denial, and yea there definitely needed to be more hordes generated.

Gas rat is basically Spitter from L4D but faster reload speed, being almost useless when alone but able to team wipe if he has good supports.

Awful. Player power is insane in Darktide. You'd need some insanely fast spawntimes, and a lot of mixed horde constantly barring down.

They are not meant to, the team that plays as rats need to stall them long enough from achieving objectives so the attacking team get's less points.

This kind of game modes are extremely hard to balance in order to make them fun and fair for both sides - but I daresay they laid a solid foundation.
Easy way how to make it ,,more fair,, more hords. Hords are acually only way how to slow them down so you as a special can deal some damage.
On the opposite, hordes make heroes spam temporary hp. A lot of it, so spec dmg become useless, especially globa's
Elites, monsters and chaos specials needed. Also specials should have melee attacks.

Complete shame it's not coming to console. 1500 hours on PS5 with friends, 4 hours on PC playing with mods. Absolute waste

you've pretty clearly not played Left 4 Dead. you should be using the Gutter Runner like a Hunter and the Poison Wind Globadier like a Spitter.
