Thank you for sharing such great memories. My brother was at BCS and I was at Auckland. He passed away at the age of 27. (1993) He was also a captain and a great sportsman for the school; much like you. His name will be on those plagues you showed. Our years in Shimla were from 1971-1982. The best years of our life. Your video brings back great memories, and such a beautiful way to remember my dear brother. Kuldeep Singh. We came from the UK. If anyone remembers my dear brother, it would be so cool to connect. Thank you for allowing so many people to re-live the past, and for parents of lost children to take a glimpse of their child’s past. My mother enjoys watching too.
This video made my day! Curzon 1996-97 batch, I haven’t been back to school since I left. A lot has changed. Thank you, Navpal. I spent two hours (on a 30-minute video) showing my wife every nook and cranny of the school, reminiscing about all the escapades we had, all thanks to your video. Also, singing the school song to my wife, yes i do remember each and every word. During my time, Mr. Hakim and later Mr. Mustafi were the headmasters, with Mrs. Archna and Miss Jacob teaching English, Mrs. Thakur teaching History, and Mr. Bharadwaj teaching Hindi. Rev. Cherian was our house master and the chaplin. I vividly remember bunking classes to head to HUTS for snacks (Chippus started when I was in school, we got omlettes and chicken soup non of the fancy stuff in your era), making calls, and sneaking cigg and alcohol. Saving up for town leave and going through the woods to the mall was a whole adventure in itself-having orange slush at Embassy, burgers at Krishna, and chole at Baljees. Doing favours as juniors and giving favours as a senior. Saturday night movies at Irvin hall on the projector, with a packet of dry WAI WAI or crushed Maggie. Hearing ghost stories on 13 friday by lower sixth guys when i was in fourth form (the dorm near the library) and then seniors playing haunting piano in Irvin hall. ha ha Your video brought back a flood of memories, especially the nostalgic feeling of our Tuesday breakfasts with nuclear orange baked beans and buttered toast-we used to look forward to it so much. Is that still served? So many stories, such great times. I live in Mumbai, but because i lived with Gills, Singhs, Dhillons, Bains, et all, through my days in school, I understand punjabi, was translating it for my wife. I’m more motivated than ever to visit the school again. Thank you for making me feel so nostalgic. Much love
Nice video bro! As a Sanawarian who's played matches in BCS, it brings back good memories. It makes me appreciate how great our schools are. 👍🏼would also like to mention that my father and grandfather are both old Cottonians.
Lovely. Fantastic video by Navpal. Enjoyed watching it thoroughly. As I have retired from the School, so miss BCS a lot. Was emotional while watching it. Old memories revived. Thank you so much Navpal for taking time out of your busy schedule and making me feel as though I am still there in BCS. ALL the best son. 🎉❤️👍
