There are a lot of fans who have already picked the series apart. I get it. Its not the animated series, and its an earnest, but flawed adaptation.
Its so, so much better than that attempt at a movie, though. I think its an especially good version to introduce ATLA to people that have never seen the animated show, or don't remember it so clearly.
I'm not denying anybody out there their criticism. And Ive seen plenty on other channels. Even really good, positive channeks.
I think these kid actors did darn good, personally. Some of the changes this series took were odd. Others made a lot of sense. I don't want to spoil anything! So I won't be specific.
Like any adaptation, it comes off better if you either have not seen the animated series, or can keep yourself from comparing the two and noticing every divergence, small or large.
My guess is that ppl that never watched the animated series will want to after seeing this.
