I like your card, Kelly. I 110% agree with you about learning from people with a different style than your own. My style is much more like Dawn’s. Softer colors, lots of layers, and when I color items, it’s usually with watercolor or layering distress inks. However, I still love watching your videos. The shadows are still in the same places no matter how you color them. Blue still looks awesome with orange, no matter the hue. Stamp sets A and B work well together, etc. Plus story time, which I always love, way back to pre-Kelly’s Critter Cottage days.

Pretty Card Kelly. I have a picture of me on a hotel bed laughing as a baby, thinking my mom was playing peek a boo with me when she was looking for an earring or something that had rolled under the bed. So Caitlyn giggling , I totally understand.
Wonderful card, Kelly. I'm like you though, I am not a finicky die cut fan, I just don't have the patience. As for watching things that might not interest me, I pretty much watch everything that someone I follow - such as yourself - puts out. I don't intend to invest in foiling but I still watch the videos with foiling for the very reason you mentioned, I can still learn things. Thank you for putting your content here on TH-cam!

I love your use of little cups! I have lost so many pieces and letters, etc. They fall off my desk and are never to be seen again! Frustrating. I've been using little cups for a while now and it has changed my frustration level!
Your card is incredible. I only recently acquired some Press and Seal. My doctor told me to wrap it around my knee post surgery to protect my incision when I take a shower. Now that my knee is healed, I can try the hinge method.

😘😘😘 I’ve used Press and Seal for ever for the die cuts. But Yana’s tape hinge method for foil gave me the idea of the PNS hinge. Game changer for sure!

I never would have come up with this hinge method using dies! I have used it to place hot foil plates and the foil in the correct position before, thanks to Yana Smakula but Dawn is a genius for coming up with this idea! Thanks for sharing this gem with us! 💞

Wonderful color and so much valuable information. I try to watch all your videos, even if it's not my jam. I learn so many different tips. Press n Seal is something I keep in my craftroom. I don't even let it go to the kitchen. If chef hubby needs or wants some, he can get his own. It has helped me so much in crafting. I can lay everything down on grid and see it's even and spaced, then I pns it. Then I can decide placement on my card. My friends in the UK used to struggle to get it, so it has made it's way in crafty goodie boxes all over Europe.

I have used press and seal to help keep placement with die cuts on a smaller scale. The hinge method technique is a fantastic. Wow. Love the beautiful card. Thanks for the encouragement to watch card makers who are outside of my comfort zone. You can learn so much from other card makers.

I love the "press n seal" technique!! It's great!! Except...don't use it on your photos...the adhesive sticks to the photos & doesn't come off!! I learned that the hard way...bummer but, I just printed another one and was thankful that it was digital! Live the coloring ad always & i have just started watching Dawn's videos!

Lovely card and I like how you coloured the die cuts :) I use a magnetic bowl by my big shot to put my dies in to stop losing one,! Well that’s the plan! 😂. I got the bowl from a hardware store!

Lovely, but oh, man - so many pieces! Cool hinge technique, though. For coloring die cuts, you might put a smidge of the Tombow mono glue on the back and stick them to a scrap. Or, you could stick them back into the negative die cut so you don’t have to chase them around when you color.
I was talking to another crafty friend the other day who suggested putting them back in their negative space and I think it's what I'm going to next!
I just learned that Dollar Tree sells a sticky mat. I bought one to try - it’s smallish - like 8.5 X 5.5. I think it will work well for holding down the bits for coloring as well as preventing them from escaping.
I have a random question about the Bitty Buzzcutter! So I have ordered it for my family to give me for Christmas (lol) but I was wondering if you or anyone knew if the Hero Arts Compact Cutter plates would fit? I liked how the platform unfolded for the plates, but I also like the length of the Hero Arts plates… 2” longer! Wondered if I could interchange the plates as they both come with 3…
Hi Kathy! I have both so I tried it. The Hero Arts plates do work in the Bitty Buzzcutter :)
Anther beautiful card! Just curious; is there any reason why you didn’t start out with different colors of card stock instead of inking up white card stock?
Thank you! I don't own any pastels really and in order to get the highlight I wanted I needed a very light base color. If you have pastels starting with those are fine. Alternatively, if you don't want a super bright highlight a midtone colored card stock would also work. Hope that helps!
Kelly, on average how long does it normally take you to make a card where you do all the background blending and the Copic blending? Beautiful card!
For me an average card is about 2 hours. Coloring takes SO long 🤣

I keep my small dies Im working with in a small magnetic bowl from the hardware store keeps from losing any. And very inexpensive!

You are really embarrassing those bold colors! The bells look really dimensional, just waiting for them to start ringing, lol. As other comments have mentioned, Jennifer Mac guide has done videos with the press and seal…a floating window technique. Big heads up, don’t layer you items and sandwich them in the press and seal. It’s virtually impossible to separate it from itself. I didn’t use it on an actual card, but pieces I wanted to save for another card that were left over. The ‘hinge’ method on the glass mat certainly makes adhering the layers look easier.
