@@hockey_all_star5895typical Leafs fan who does not watch him play making an uneducated statement. He is unironically playing some of the best defense on the team.
@@michael9959 best Defense on the team yeah sure lmfaoooo, everyone knows he’s horrible defensively right now, habs fans just won’t say a bad word about him
Bedard at 3 is crazy definitely would have him ahead of Stutzle and him and Celebrini kind of in their own tier. Although Stutzle has really elevated his defensive and physical game Bedard likely has too good of offensive tools to make the defensive deficiencies a big enough offset to have Stutzle ahead of Bedard
This is why I ignore all things from the athletic as a Montreal fan , they shit on Montreal prospects and has Suzuki as one of the worst contracts in the NHL
I've been pleasantly surprised by Hutson's defense. That's not to say he hasn't gotten exposed or made mistakes, but I think the worry was (at least for me) they were going to be rampant given his style of play. I've been impressed by the number of times he's broken up a play that I thought was going to get hung on him. Again, I'm not saying he's been great, and there are certainly "oof" moments, but the fact that he's been "fine" defensively as a 5'10 ~165 pound D-man in his first season definitely exceeds expectations. Especially with the minutes he's been logging. I would say he's already more than adequate defensively given what he can do with the puck, and he will likely get better with experience.
i think the stutzle thing is that he’s genuinely already playing a complete game at both ends. + level player in his own end ++ player in transition and in the o-zone. Not sure that’s enough to push out Bedard, but the guy is really really good
Jimmy Snuggerud at 71 is outrageous!!! He should totally be like 20 spots higher or something. I don’t really know who Snuggerud is but I wanted to feel slighted about this list like all the other comments🤷♂️
The fact that Beniers and Wright are both above Hutson is laughable, Kent Hughes would be hard pressed to even accept a trade packaging the both of them for Hutson.
As a Caps fan, I'm kinda surprised that Iorio (96) & Parascak (127) made the list but Andrew Cristall didn't (unless I missed it). Not that I don't like either of them, but Cristall was *this close* to making the Caps opening night roster last fall (I know: he didn't, but him being pretty much the last guy to get cut isn't nothing IMHO)
Iorio seems like an excellent TVR replacement, but his ceiling is a good third pairing defenseman or a weak second pair defenseman. TVR is a solid 3rd pair defenseman, which is all we need from him right now, and Iorio should slip in nicely to replace him when his contract is up. But Cristall should be a great scorer, especially on the power play. Him and Hutson could give the Capitals a really good power play in a few years. I'm not sold on Cristall ever being a top line player or being a great 5 on 5 player, but he should be so good on the power play and he should put up a ton of points with the teammates he'll have on the Capitals. I think Cristall can be a 40-40 player if he gets support from teammates and gets first line power play minutes.
For once I gotta agree with this guy, to have Buium at 8 is nuts for a guy who wasn't a top 3 draft pick nor playing an NHL game yet. I love to take the piss out of this guy and Graviteh but I agree this list is nuts.

I get that Celebrini is having a really good rookie year but he’s on pace to have about the same season that bedard had last year. The situation Celebrini is in is objectively better than what bedard has had to play with. Celebrini is gonna be amazing, I just don’t understand how he’s better than bedard right now
