    THIS IS A STUNNING MODEL. Am i crazy to think that c4d has a little more of a realistic 'pop' in its rendering than Blender? While Blender does other things better than C4d? Don't get me wrong this is GORGEOUS - but is there a certain physical-tangible feel to c4d renders that is hard to get in Blender? Obviously Blender is free and has all sorts of other great features- but I'm just wondering - mostly for my own sanity lol...

    • @KeelanJon
      @KeelanJon  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey hey, thanks for the kind words 😁 And I get what yours saying in regards to your comment on the render differences, I think it's probably a couple of factors. Generally blenders BSDF shader that I'm using here was designed for 'stylised' works, in addition to C4D using other render engines which will yield different results. But there are other render engine options such as Octane that can also be set up in Blender, but in my experience it felt like more hastle to get set up than it was worth 😅 Although I'm sure more experienced Blender artists could probably offer more insight!

    • @dariofromthefuture3075
      @dariofromthefuture3075 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KeelanJon Thank you for the response. Glad im not crazy lol . Rn I'm thinking learn Blender, embrace the online ecostem and the sculpting tools - but just render my stuff in C4d or figure out Octane in Blender as I do enjoy that look.

    Noob question from me here.... Well first off I have to say this is amazing video and love your style. Subbed and liked. Looking forward to checking your other work.
    Question. I have a character for a game and I have added the colours to my model also already. Using a basic one colour per object like instead of texture... Anyways... Do I have to UV Map the colours on or can I use the colours I have put on simply by the shader, material mode way... Assuming I have to UV Map the colours on??

    • @KeelanJon
      @KeelanJon  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey man, thanks for the kind feedback 👋😁 This character wasn't specifically designed for game Dev but that is an area I'm starting to dip my toe into so I may be able to touch on it.
      As far as exporting to a game engine goes, you are correct, generally you'd want to make sure all of your UVs are nicely unwrapped and then you could go ahead and bake any aspect you like such as textures, normals etc for use on other platforms. Or even just use the materials from that platform. Hope that helps 😁☕

    This would have been a perfect video but it isn't, I would consider it a waste of time... when people come online for contents like this , they wanna learn how it is done (not too just see, which was clearly what you did here) if you had added texts or any step by step guidelines, that would have at least helped anyone who wants to learn how things are done... why would I spend over an hour looking up something I would almost hate myself for trying to attempt because I don't know how to? There's really no point

    Can a complete newbie replicate this just by following this video and looking at the buttons you're pressing? I love your style and I would love to learn Blender to make characters like the one in the video

      Hey there, thanks for the comment 😁 I'd probably recommend a more in depth and explained video to learn the fundamentals of blender before attempting something like this. But good luck on your blender journey 😁🙌

    hi? I am your biggest fan. I'm studying rigging, but I'm having trouble learning because the Blender version is different from the version in your video. If you have time, could you upload a rigging tutorial for version 4.0 or higher?
