This is fantastic. A lot of people don't seem to realize that, according to an interview with TAI in Alternative Press, this song is actually really heartbreaking and is about an extremely painful/hopeless time William was going through a few years ago. When I watched this after reading that interview, I cried at the end when William started crying after beating himself/the floor. Haha, I know this is a really emo comment, but just sayin'!
Oh my gosh I was so young when this came out. I listened to this one, slow down & almost here RELIGIOUSLY as a kid. What a blast from the past. Simple times I tell y’all what!
Kacie Guy it actually wasn’t him, they were able to find a look alike to play the bad version of will. And also when when the real will punched the fake one, he actually punched him and he lost a tooth.
I have a feeling that this music video was Pete's idea, because with his bipolar disorder, it makes sense that he would feel like this sometimes, and he wasn't suprised when Bill told him about what was happening, just said "Yeah, happens to me all the time."
Man.. I wonder what it was like to be a teenager back then! you guys had some good ass music to listen to. Fall Out Boy and Panic right now aint that same.. :/
@@samwoodson9603 There is a band from Phoenix, Arizona currently unsigned/independent that need to sign with Decaydence or Fueled By Ramen or BOTH! That band is called Anarbor
OMG. cannot believe this song is almost a decade old. I remember when I drooled over boys with this hairstyle and FUSE played something besides Lil Wayne takeovers.
These guys were my first concert 6 years ago... William Beckett was my first celebrity crush I can't believe they're not together anymore. it breaks my heart
When I was like 12 I was listening to this in the car with my earbuds and my mom heard me and turned around and said "you're back there rockin out ain't ya?" And I got embarrassed lol
This song is already 13 years old??! Man time flies so fast. I was in high school when this came out. We had a lot of cool teen emo/pop punk/alt rock music back then: MCR, FOB, P!ATD, RJA, ATL, Alesana, and those other bands who were featured in every "Pop Goes..." albums. I had a lot of good memories, especially the "fun" arguments with the Bieber/Pop fans and the KPop fans (contemporary KPop was relatively new back then) on what is the best music/genre.
I remember in health class in high school, for our final we had to pick any health topic and do a presentation on it. I chose dissociative identity disorder and used this video. Not to pat myself on the back but mine was good. All thanks to TAI.
I made a "big mess" in the kitchen just hours ago that immediately triggered my memory of the song, which I hadn't listened to since it was released. I'm shocked at how well it stands up after all these years, especially for its genre. Shame about them breaking up though, I only just found out about it.
I went to the Honda Civic Tour 2007 and I had the chance to meet William Beckett, Mike Carden and The Butcher from The Academy Is and Gabe from Cobra Starship. They were all very sweet and William is even better looking in person! It is my ultimate dream to meet Brendon Urie from Panic! At The Disco someday because I've been a fan of his since the beginning and he's my hero.
im 17 (like this video came out literally the day before i was born) and im a huge fan of the academy is. this mv means a whole lot to me in a way i can’t really describe in words. i always felt the way william in video is, and seeing it for the first time just clicked for me. i could never verbalize those feelings and this music video not only helped me realize then myself but also helped me describe them to my literal therapist. anyway, enough of that, part of me wants to be like one of those “oh i was born at the wrong time” people because i would’ve loved to witness the peak of tai in person, but im actually kinda happy i can be one of the little kids that came later that keep the music going. i love this band to death and owe them a lot. X
Saw 'em at Warped Tour yesterday.. It was worth it, waiting through all the bands I sort of liked to see the ownage of The Academy Is... BEST show the entire night.. even though MCS did a good one.. I just loved this one.
So, I went and looked up William Beckett's solo music. Pretty much cried and had a freak out, and needed to come back here to listen to what was once my favorite band.
Jesus i remember watching this when it was in rotation on fuse. Was never a fan of the song but i would always just deal with it because i loved the video lol
perhaps he had been anticipating that the bad him had taken money from his account so he went to check, but he happened to have been carrying a bunch of cash so he could pay for the taxi or something
One the best nights of my life was at their concert in Chicago at the Metro last week. I'm glad I choose them for my first concert. They also performed with Sing it Loud. To bad nobody was able to hang outwith TAI after the show. I was able to get a picture with Pat Brown, the lead singer of Sing it Loud. I hope to see TAI again.
+Miriam Guerrero That would be the amazingly talented Mr. Butch Walker! Butch is the producer for Santi (the album this song is on) as well as many other amazing albums from artists like Panic! and FOB. He was lead singer of Marvelous 3 in the late 90s and is solo now. He is a musical genius! I absolutely love me some Butch Walker!!!
Bruh I was at a Panic! concert last night and at one point there was a video in which he kidnapped Brendon. Like it's gotten to the point where i don't wonder where Pete Wentz _is_ , I wonder where he's _not_
Damn that was one heavy music video. That was literally an emotional rollercoaster right there in just 4 minutes.
yeaaa
God Damn, This is 2024 and This nostalgia is rocking in December for all eternity.
🤘🏾🤪🤘🏾

William looked really good in that red shirt and leather jacket tbh
Kacie Guy it actually wasn’t him, they were able to find a look alike to play the bad version of will. And also when when the real will punched the fake one, he actually punched him and he lost a tooth.

It was shitty because this wasn't popular....crank that and party like a rock star were popular
Yeah we were so lucky ❤️ when i was kid Ryan Ross was still in the p!atd

This video is so freaking powerful. Never thought I'd relate to a music video as much.
Ah yes, the Decaydence Cinematic Universe, brought to you by Pete Wentz.
Blue Magpie The Bring It (Snakes on a Plane) music video was my Infinity War as a 13 year old.

Pete Wentz should change his name to Pete Waldo, bc he always has a cameo in every Fueled By Ramen and DCD2 video like Brendon Urie
OMG
Why has no one mentioned Butch and his brilliant "Tshyeah!" moment? Love it.
at the end when hes alone on the stage...it always gets me. the academy is, one of my favorites for life hands down

I still listen to this song often and this music video still hits in a way that my teenage self will never forget.
