Better build it while your working, and can afford it after retirement much more difficult to buy the things you want still do it but definitely slower than I would like.
It is fun and different than building an indoor layout. Putting track on the ground and ballasting it with real rock makes it feel more like a real railroad. It can also be a lot more physical. I have been getting my exercise raking and grading the gravel, then pounding the ballast before putting the track on top. Good luck with your future layout. Thanks for watching!
Ours is also dead rail. I really think that's the best way to go outside. I'm using AirWire and LokSound decoders. It works pretty well. Thanks for watching!
Take a look at model railroader this year (forget the month) there was a guy layout in the UK ( wanna say Germany) that had a garden layout that was like 125ftx40ft. He made welded bench work built his plants around it and a shed for storage
Wow 🤩 !!!! I just showed this to my wife and we will plan and build a garden layout when I retire….. in about ten years 👍👍

Very nice Dan!
We converted all our G scale power to dead rail / blunami; what an improvement.

Very cool. Nice to see 2 trains running at same time !!!!!!!
Yes, I'm looking forward to that. We got a couple new Halloween cars this year, too. Thanks for watching!
Nicely done Daniel.
Thanks so much!
Great job!
Thanks!
Love the "Natural Weathering"
Dan!!! 😁😁😁😁😁😁
I'm glad you liked it. It's always fun to try new techniques for weathering... LOL. Thanks for watching!
Looks like a lot of work, But worth it in the end.
I think it will be. It should make for a good display this year. Thanks for watching!
You can never have enough track.
Good point. We have a lot of room to put down more track so we're hoping that eventually the railroad will be a lot bigger. Thanks for watching!
It's a good thing you bought so much of this stuff years ago because the cost of this now days would be scary.
I have been slowly buying track, but I've had most of the trains for years. Thanks for watching!
I am looking forward to seeing your Halloween display this year!
Us, too! We're working hard on it. Thanks for watching!
Coming along, . . . .
I'm happy with the progress so far. Thanks for watching!

I'll have to look for that. I'm a little behind in my reading right now. Thanks for letting me know and for watching!
