The second demo video of my new Black and White quick adjustments and conversion panel for Photoshop CC2014 or higher.
This time I selected a photo that I processed 6 years ago and took me around 12 hours to post process using one of the first versions of my iSGM Black and White workflow method. I now do this with my B&W Quick Adjustments and conversion panel in less than 13 minutes in combination with my usual iSGM B&W workflow. You can see the complete processing in this video of 11 minutes: I cut out 2 minutes in which I was either waiting on my computer or taking a quick nap:)

Amazing result, Joel, thank you so much for sharing...
Joel, it would be amazing if you did this image with the new Artisan Pro panel. I would like to see which tools you use to process this sky. I'm glad this video is still available. It's amazing to watch this and see the work that is behind your panel. I love the music that you chose to accompany this video. Besides being educational it's quite entertaining.
Joel, many artists are about to leave the traditional PS & LR have you considered making your panels for Affinity Photo or Luminar Neo. Even though I have bought them for A.D.O.B.E. I would buy they on another platform.
Amazing. Purchased your panels and it makes a rather difficult task relatively easy. Also, don't pay any attention to the negative comments - there are always a few in every crowd unfortunately.
Thanks Terry - happy you think so.
Bravo Maestro!!!
Looks like a very difficult process ... might be 13 minutes for you but I suspect 12 hours for me.
Thanks for the insight though - something to aspire to for me.
Just started using this plugin and cannot say anything but ‘brilliant’
Just not sure I understand the reason behind creating different bw-layers and blending them later.
Does this give a different result compared to loading a selection in your active layer and creating i.e a high-key part in the water?
Anyway, thanks for this work- been making me enjoy photoshop!
Frank, are you referring to the panel in this video? This is an outdated panel that has been replaced 2.5 years ago. As for your question: what you're referring to is only possible if you can create a selection that blends in exactly the way you intended to have it. That surely is possible, but blending it via a gradient mask is much easier and gives more control
Joel Tjintjelaar Joel Tjintjelaar I see, thank you. The silk monument was very easy to follow, that must be the current version. As a new user, I thought I’ would just watch and try every
For now I am using a copy of the colour image on extra high contrast for making selections, so far that works fine.
Thank you for the immediate reply, by the way. Much appreciated!
@@frankjanssen9589 thanks Frank. That selection method you use is not a very accurate one. I'm releasing a 4 hr video next week on advanced masking. It's a complete workflow and technique you won't find anywhere else.
Joel Tjintjelaar Brilliant, I did subscribe to your newsletter last week, I am curious to see how to do this more efficiently. No rush, in the meantime there is lots for me left to keep myself entertained with your panel. ;)

(Sorry for my english). I'm a mid-advanced user in photoshop. Got the Jimmy Mcintyre panel of luminosity masks. I'm at your page and really want to buy all of your content, the panel, the workflow tutorials.. but i want to know first if your tutorials are like this one or they are more in depth ones.
And sorry but your page is so confusing for me to know what to buy. Can you please write here the name of your courses, I mean the actualized ones.
The ones that I have to buy to know how to process at least something similar to your photos. And I'm interested in color too.
Spinlayer, no my ‘real’ video tutorials are from a different level. They’ve been produced with professional cinematographers and with a German video production company and are recorded in a studio and on location with professional video and sound equipment. Most of them are 2.5 hrs, so they are in-depth. The videos on my TH-cam channel are just teasers created by myself.
Let me try to bring a bit of clarity in my products and courses.
First, I do workshops and mentorships all over the world, but they are separate from my videos and panels. I’m assuming you’re only referring to my videos and panels.
A good starting point for everything related to B&W and fine-art photography is the following eBook that I co-wrote with Julia Anna Gospodarou and it deals on everything related to B&W, fine-art, long exposure and architectural photography: www.bwvision.com/products/#ebook
If you want to know more on my B&W workflow and techniques in a visual way then I can recommend this video: sites.fastspring.com/fototv/product/speedworkflow or better yet, this one that has the previous video with another video on long exposure for a discounted price: sites.fastspring.com/fototv/product/bundle4995
If you specifically want to know more on Long exposure photography then this is the video: sites.fastspring.com/armanddijcks/instant/masteringlongexposurephotography
I also teach about color and in that case you could consider this video: sites.fastspring.com/armanddijcks/product/fineartcolorworkflow
My panels are independent of those video tutorials!
My Quick Mask Pro panel is meant to create fast and accurate selections (an essential part of my workflow): www.bwvision.com/products/#panel and my B&W fine art panel sites.fastspring.com/bwvision/product/blackandwhitefineartworkflowphotopanelv200 is focused on creating fast B&W photos that you can use independently of my B&W workflow method or in combination, as shown in the TH-cam video here.
Hope this helps a bit.
Thank you so much for answering so fast.. I will buy then the e-book, the 3 video courses plus the panels.
cool video thank for sharing.
Hi Joel, I have rewatched this video a few times. I like the functionality of the panel but I don't fully understand the process. For example, why do you make more than one pass with the gradient mask?
I can't explain the process here in a few lines but I'm using luminosity masks in this video and with luminosity masks each new pass will be added to the previous pass to make the effect even stronger and have the effect you desire.
Honestly using LUM masks is nothing new. Your process is very confusing and the music is annoying.. had to mute it. You just seem to be constantly making more layers and merging down to do Tone adjustments over and over again. And merging down after you like the tone, but then adding more. There is no way to duplicate this seeing how you are constantly merging down rather than creating layer sets with Lum masks that are structured for more post adjustments in a non destructive way. Your tutorial would have more impact if you discussed what you are doing and why. I think I could have done the same in 1/2 the time and 1/4 the post work.
I never said that Luminosity masks were something new. This wasn't meant to duplicate the process, it was just a quick demo. My full length video tutorials with voice over comments are something else. And by the way: what's that with non-destructive/destructive editing when I'm not using adjustment layers in the traditional way? Do you think I can't go back to a previous situation? If I can't then that's destructive.
