    “You make me feel so young!” That was beautiful, and it swung, and the complexity of your bass lines are so smooth; while they blending without being more prominent then the melody! Hey fellow guitarists, that’s really hard to do! You groove man.

    I quit using Vaseline in the shop decades ago, Rich. I use Chapstick now. It's cheaper, and doesn't make such a mess when played or in warm weather. Easily applied with a toothpick.
    As always, your playing is topnotch. Keep up the good work.

    I think solid back and maple do a nice thing. Thanks

    Hi Rich, I own a blonde 175 w/ mahogany back and sides. It had originally a mix two 250k and two 500k pots, so it sounded darker than a full 500k and not as dark as a full 250k pots (too dark!). I installed a full 500k pots vol/tone circuit and it plays great (by turning down the pots, closer to the original). I love you playing, keep it up!!

    Hey Rich,
    Mines an 83 and I love it. The inlays turned yellowish after heating up the neck for a stuck truss rod. Looks pretty cool.

    I think you've ever seen the inside through the F hole of the guitar, though. Didn't you see the builder's signature on or near the label? And wasn't it Jim Triggs'? I used to own a 1991 with his signature. It had maple sides/back but your 1990's sound reminds me of it. Anyway, thank you for the great playing, sir.

    Sounds great the way you play it. Too dark? Eh... maybe? I can definitely appreciate it as it is (which is so mellow but clean), even if it isn't what I imagine as my ideal sound. All in all with so much character and uniqueness, who wouldn't want that? Curious about something - why is the mahogany/spruce or maple in this case so well established for acoustics, but uncommon in electric archtops?

    Beautiful guitar. I cannot play axes with the toggle switch in that spot. I hit it inadvertently all the time. Put that shit down where the controls belong! Same problem with Les Pauls. 335 and SG for me!

    Hello all. What a great guitar .can we hear it acoustically as the tone is so great.

    • @RichSeversonGuitar
      @RichSeversonGuitar  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, Peter! I gave you a little sample of how it sounds acoustically but this guitar doesn't put off much of an acoustic sound. I'll try to play longer next time with the acoustic sound.

    Hi Rich, I like the look of the Florentine cutaway but is there anything you don't like about it? What is the reason for the pickups being mounted at an angle?

    • @RichSeversonGuitar
      @RichSeversonGuitar  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like the Florentine cutaway. I don't have a problem with it at all. I really like how this guitar feels and plays. The reason for the pickup being mounted at an angle is so that it picks up the strings as close to the neck as possible which is where I believe the sweetest sounds of the guitar come from. That is also why I pick the strings very close to the neck. The further back you go when picking, the worse the sound gets. Same concept with the pickup.

      @@RichSeversonGuitar Well, it sounds dull. I've got - I guess - 16 jazz guitars (Höfner, Epiphone etc.). But the Gibson ES 175 D stays in the case. Thanks for your work on this channel.
