Voltes V was supposed to be the sequel of Combattler V,the logo are look the same,the character looks the same and the title looks the same, but the director (I think) just decided that Voltes V will be another super robot anime,not a sequel

Well I'll say this I played SRW3 rom on SNES emulator and I alway tried to have the Mechas with the most catchy theme to win on each mission.
P.S way too many Gundams then way too many Gundams now. The greatest fail that happened to me in that game was using a Gundams special attack with the probability of success at 99% it missed.
