I feel like this, among his #1 singles on the pop charts, is the most forgotten (and his last). But I remember being 10 years old in the fall of 1991 when this was huge and MTV had this video on constantly! I didn't understand all of the innuendos at the time, but the video made me aware enough to know that it was something my parents wouldn't want me to watch. So for that rebellious factor alone, and for those formative years, it's one of my favorite Prince songs.
This song was the second single of his album ''Diamond and Pearls''. This was his final successful era of his career. This was considerer his last reinvention for him, since this album included a lot of rap and hip-hop influences starting to be huge during this period. This is the reason why he wanted ''Get offs'' has the first single of this album, since it'swas a departure of his past work since it's was influenced by rap and hip-hop and it's was a urban hit and also did well in radios. ''Cream'' was released after ''Gets Off''. This song was his final n.1 single to date and his fifth n.1 single (the others was ''When Doves Cry'', ''Let's Go Crazy'', ''Kiss'' and ''Batdance''). And question, do you accepted news members to make petreons picks for songs?

This is definitely one of the catchy Prince songs that I was not sure I liked when I first heard it, but then got stuck in your head especially when it was all over the radio and MTV but still never got overplayed for me at all!
I remember playing Prince songs in my bedroom at my parents house and my Mom would ask t" What are they singing about? Do you know? I am so glad that you spoke on his background and duet singers because he has ALWAYS down played them.

Wow impressive as always! So a video within a movie is what I just watched?! And 🤯 wow Prince last hit was in the early 90s?! How did the most beautiful girl in the world chart? I thought that was a hit?!
Mazarati was the backing vocals on Kiss not Wendy.Kiss was originally recorded by Mazarati but Prince didn’t like their version so he recorded it for hisself but he kept Mazarati’s backing track.
'Sha-boogie Bop' is what he sings. I knew this song through Vh1 😂, they used it as the track on one of their video montage mini ad breaks. Had no idea it was by Prince. Shout out to the requester. At least there is one more Prince song i know. Oh btw Empress, can't believe you didn't instantly get that the subject matter would be nasty 😂
I remember Madonna did an interview with TV Guide where she said Prince videos were incredible in the 80s but now (early 90s) they were "cheap and silly and below his ability" 😂
@@EmpressReacts _tryna not get my comment deleted not judging but frfr cream was popular with ppl who don’t look like us lol ya know it’s a safe prince song_
Rosie Gaines is such a great singer!!! Since you mentioned her, I thought you might enjoy this performance of Nothing Compares 2 U that she did with Prince. th-cam.com/video/YsbYMYuYOiQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=B80hX7GNMfdwTr6_
This has always been one of my favorites by Prince. One of those songs where you can't stay still when it's on.
This was Prince's last #1 single on the Billboard U.S. Pop Chart.
Oh wow!🤯
I saw the music video on TV. Probably in the 90s. It's in my top 6 Prince songs.
He actually wrote the song looking in the mirror. Now listen to it.😊
😂wow
Prince said he wrote Cream about himself whilst looking in the mirror shaving
Wow 😂

Prince was 5’3 without his 3 inch heels
Wow 😂
Prince and his groove. Nasty and so smooth. Love it.
😂
I never saw the first part of this video before the music starts! MTV played this A LOT but I guess they usually cut out that part.
This was always a favorite of mine and my wife's for "special" times together 😁😁
Omg 😂
This is definitely one of the catchy Prince songs that I was not sure I liked when I first heard it, but then got stuck in your head especially when it was all over the radio and MTV but still never got overplayed for me at all!
I could see that happening
I remember playing Prince songs in my bedroom at my parents house and my Mom would ask t" What are they singing about? Do you know? I am so glad that you spoke on his background and duet singers because he has ALWAYS down played them.
😂 oh mom. And I find myself liking the others background more than the main verse

@ oh I see - dang he still stopped having hits pretty early on
Empress, I like the new thumbnails. Prince always finds very talented bandmates and vocalists. This is Prince in his more pop era. Cool song.
Thanks ☺️

Love the new thumbnails designs! Great move
Glad you think so!
Happy New Year to you and your family homie!! 🎉💖🙌🏾

@EmpressReacts Thank you homie!!!
For Prince this is a throwaway song. For a lesser talent, this would be an upgrade, I suppose.
