Here is something I found to make the Manny meted work better. I use one size smaller fid and tapper the 550 cord. That way the fid is the same diameter. Some times I go two sizes smaller. This way the hole you make is smaller.
It occurs to me that an alternative to a weave stopper would be a bead, either with enough of a hole so that the singed end could not pass through, or held with a diamond knot.
