Honestly I like his voice . Heaven in a junkyard actually brings me to almost like a post World War Two setting. The Melodie’s and story he’s telling sounds classic too me… even if people interpret as feminine it also has a masculine element too Keep singing the way you do Trevor. You are amazing songwriter and don’t ever get to the point where you wanna leave us behind. You aren’t alone and you should come back to St. Louis!
I love this guy's music. It's just so beautiful in a specific way that is hard to even describe. He feels much in tune with life and his process in making these songs really shows that. His voice I get will be controversial to some, but for me it just completes his very specific vision. It's very gentle and airy, despite often going down to a darker place. When all music is so same-y and just pop garbage now it's so refreshing to hear something real. I've been in the same situation as him, my health is always poor, I feel trapped in my own body sometimes, but my soul has so much it wants to say and do, but I feel I won't be able to do if I get really ill or die young. I want to build worlds like he does, albeit in film or TV fashion. There is one project I built listening to this man's first three albums, particularly The Year of Hibernation. I was a very sheltered and friendless kid for most of my life and spent most of my time in my room when I was not at school. I had a hard time making friends, and sometimes you want to see more of the world than just your family. It was like a decade of Hibernation for me. I always had this idea of a closed off world that was beautiful to exist in, but you eventually have to leave and come up for air, much like Trevor speaks about in the video. In my room I would listen to music and exist in this space. My childhood home also built this space. It's an almost life controlling nostalgia that keeps you in, but you eventually have to leave if you want to grow. So I will grow. I don't know where my drive and vision would be without this music, but I feel like I wouldn't want to be an artist without it. Thank you Trevor for helping me find my spark.
I saw him live in Colorado, and he was incredible. He's only got two other musicians with him, but the music sounds HUGE. Kinda gave me Phil Specter, "Wall of Sound" vibes. What a voice, too. I highly encourage you see him live if you can.
Love his music and am really impressed by his thoughtfulness in this interview. Saw him live recently, in a very small club, and was blown away by the fullness of the sound. One of the best concerts I’ve been too in a long, long time. That said, these stripped down versions are lovely.
I’ve been a huge fan of Trevor since the first Youth Lagoon album. I saw the first show on this tour and it was awesome. The album is gorgeous.
What an excellent interview. I've been a fan for about 15 minutes after wandering down the Possum hole.
Absolutely love this interview! Heaven Is A Junkyard is one of my all time favorite albums. So emotional! & I love the “junk” themes. ❤

Heard prizefighter on kpnw Friday and I immediately added it to my Playlist. I must have listened to that song 20 times that day.
I LOVE Trevor!
trevors the best! i have The Sling on repeat, those last 2 minutes are (literally) divine
It’s weird not seeing the interviewers face. Makes me think of Seinfeld
one of the most original artist's of all time, and a phenomenal poet.
Love Trev
You could ask him about his favourite music. Very nice guy with beautiful voice. Reminds me artist LP a bit
