Woman Claims Cops Handcuffed Her on Pile of Fire Ants

- A Texas woman claims she was attacked by fire ants while in police custody. The drama started when Taylor Rogers was dropping her 9-year-old son at school. She went the wrong way in a traffic circle and police tried to stop her but she drove off. Rogers was later in police custody when her face was planted right into the grass. Apparently police were unaware that she was facedown in a nest of fire ants. Inside Edition’s Steven Fabian has more.

What’s misleading??? The body cam literally shows her being pinned face down on the ground and they made no attempt to check if she was telling the truth. Any person thrashing in pain seems to be “resisting” in their eyes.
So we just gonna ignore the part where she fled from the cops in the first place.

Exactly. Its a human rights violation.
I mean, the issue is it doesn't seem like they knew she was being held down in fire ants, especially looking at the claims they intentionally held her down there because of fire ants seems absurd, how would they have known about the fire ants under the grass, did they pre scout the area?
@@redeyesb.dragonite8562 They may not have known she was on top of a fire ant hill, but when she is screaming telling the cops that she’s getting bit and to move her they completely ignored her. They ignored her because if they did help her up to move her away from aunt hill they thought she would try to run. Which idk why they even thought that in the first place because well she was cuffed for one thing. When you’re cuffed with your hands behind your back you’re not gonna go very far if you try running. Please shut up. I understand you concern for the lady, but police abolishment is absolutely ludicrous
No, man, rewatch the video… the traffic violation caused a traffic stop, fleeing from the traffic stop is what caused the arrest, and rightfully so. Maybe the fire ants were just fast acting karma, dont break the law and try to evade consequences (there probably wouldn’t have even been consequences, probably just a warning, this is entirely on her and her own stupidity)
Karam is myths @@tobybeggs8676
What a clown thing to say 😂😂😂 how did all those dots get all over her face.
tsk, simply her face breaking out from touching grass, she must have an unaccounted allergy.
So what was the reason she didn’t stop for police and instead drove off? Her attorney didn’t even mention that.
Our 4th and 8th amendment rights make that irrelevant to her lawsuit. No matter what she might have done, the police don't have the right or authority to inflict any pain or punishment upon a suspect in their custody. This is settled law.
If you MUST KNOW. She was not evading. She was pulling out of the one way zone of the drop off/pick up zone of her son's school. She was trying to correct her mistake so she could properly be cited and the cops reported her as evading and fleeing. She did not leave school grounds yet when they pulled her from her car and held her down on a fire ant mound. Which is something her attorney DID mention.
Omg - lawsuit
If that were my daughter, or wife, mom, sister. It would be between God and me.
If that was respect and dignity,I hate to see what abuse would look like.
I would understand taking off and not stopping for cops if you committed a serious crime or had warrants and were facing serious time but why would you try to flee over something so insignificant which probably happens frequently and she could have just stopped explained she made a wrong turn and been on her way after a minute or so .
Hindsight is twenty twenty. Cops have huge power trip egos.
I never used to understand why people run from cops, but look what happens when they catch you. Hard to blame untrained civilians for freaking out sometimes, but you expect SOME kind of process from trained police outsizing and outnumbering her by such a margin.
Right. She was doing everything she could not to stop. She even drove in the grass to avoid them stopping her. It was a school zone where children's safety should come first, but most commenters want to give her a free pass because they hate cops more than they care about the safety of kids.

It wasn't on purpose. And she has every right to sue. If they stopped arresting people because they were uncomfortable there would be a lot higher chances of serious injury. They should have checked her. But I completely understand why they didn't. I would have, though
How the hell did they not know? What didn't give it away? The fact that she was screaming "ants"..

Maybe im not listening to it correctly, but it sounds like she was evading police @0:24 seconds
Evading can be interpreted very loosely and the account given as a reply to your question is not factual.
The full video shows that the officer's immediately picked her up when she started screaming that ants were on her face.
They probably thought she was lying or exaggerating and were annoyed by her screaming. With that said, seeing the amount of bites on her face...she should be compensated.
So, if she didn't drive off, she wouldn't have had fire ants on her face.
True she was stupid, and maybe this was an especially forceful case of karma, but the police still acted wrong and shouldn't have ignored her screaming in pain and telling them exactly why.
