are you adding anything to your canvas? is it an unprimed canvas? I have been trying to follow this at home and the acrylics on store bought 12x12 canvas DO NOT smear like this. Everything looks runny and the paint doesn't absorb well or something?

@@lizk7105 The canvas' I buy say they are already primed. I don't show he ever gesso's his canvas' first either. I thought about an acrylic gel but I'm using liquitex heavy body paints. The camel paint he's using is cheap on the internet. It doesn't make sense to me why it doesn't spread right?

@@briceduncanartworks3790 if you look closely at the canvas it it rougher so I think extra gesso would create a rougher surface for the paint to adhere and create more texture try it and see if that works.
