Can’t wait to open mine (b'day tomorrow). I thought Larry was going to be all serious when he started off, but he eventually found his own style and rhythm. More of Larry please and the creative production :)
I love the Peak Design approach to your bags AND videos. I own a charcoal everyday tote. I’m a 43yr old father of two. It’s perfect. I wish this 5 liter sling came in charcoal too. Keep up the good work Lawrence. Not only was the video informative but I had a good chuckle.
I think your missing a marketing opportunity with this 5l bag. I have been using it as a chest bag clipped to my backpack. It is perfect to have access to camera and or other gear. It is just the right size, doesn't block your veiw of your feet coming down mountains either. Just tuck straps in back pockets and clip the bag to your shoulder straps using the top handle. Easy on easy off. Keep up the good work.
Hi, please no offence, but why you keep says that this bag can hold 11" tablet? Even in this video you are showing 9,7" iPad and seems to be the maximum. I don't understand why is this misleading specification at the website.
Thanks for the video! You guys are doing a great job. I already have the 13" Messenger Bag and the Field Pouch, both in Charcoal. The 5L Sling looks also damn great and would be perfect for some of my use cases. Please offer a Charcoal version of it, too! I'd order it instantly.
I have a 10ltr sling but just like this it has the same zip opening, I've recently visited a couple of places where it's generally quiet and opening the sling can be very noisy. I know it's something very simple but it would be nice if you could have maybe some magnetic retaining lip or even clip like the messenger bag. I have some Hadley pros and this is what makes them great no noisey thumbling around. Cheers Justin
I just got this sling today and the first thing I did is stuff my iPad Pro 10.5 inside. It fits with the apple cover but it’s tiiiiiiiiiiight. So I wouldn’t try with any bulky case or pencil attachment. Just slide the pencil in the front pocket.
I’m loving mine. Swap out my mavic or my gh5 with a few lenses (with some fishing gear) super easy. Can’t bring everything but I bring my shit with me way more frequently without feeling like I’m on a photog excursion. Also the front zip frees up my pockets. Thanks 🤓
Hi Thomas, probably best to answer your question with full internal dimensions... Due to the shape of the bag being tapered, narrower at the bottom compared to the top, I will provide approximate internal dimensions at both points: Bottom 23cm x 7.5cm Top 28cm x 10.5cm Height 20cm Please note that all these are by manual measurement and are subject to error and variation.
The question I have that I'm surprised I can't find the answer to ANYWHERE is how does this fit into the Travel Backpack? Does it fit in similar to a small camera cube? I'm trying to decide if I want to get a small camera cube for my drone to go into the Travel Backpack, but I would rather get this since it can function as a standalone bag once I take it out....but I can't find any info about that. It looks a bit bigger than the small camera cube but I kind of think it might still fit.
Hi There, the 5L Sling is approximately the same size as the small camera cube, so the 5L Sling effectively takes up one "packing unit" of space within the Travel Backpack. It is of course possible to utilise a strap on the camera cube if you wanted to make that a functional carry unit.
Soooo... i have been coming back to this video not only because i love lawrence. but i still can't figure out why it''s not a 6 liter bag. with the new ipads coming out this needs to fit the 10 inch :.(
Can it fit the 2018 latest iPad Pro 11” can someone help me with this question , if can’t fit into the main iPad pocket , can it fit into the main compartment???
My gear would be a7 (iii or riii), Nikon 105mm 2.5 + adapter (overall getting close to 11cm length and 6.5cm diameter), Zeiss 35-70 3.4 + adapter (same as previous dimensions) and Zeiss 28mm 2.8 (5cm length and 6.5cm diameter). Would the 5l fit them all, with one of the lens always attached to the riii? (+ Maybe some UV filters in the space for ipad). Or should I get the 10l. Looking at 3.00 I guess the 5l might fit them well. The 55 1.8 is about 7cm tall and has 6.5cm diameter which is close to the Nikkor/Zeiss I'd be having. The 24-70 is much larger and, the last 35mm looks close to what the Zeiss 28mm feels like. I gave the internal dimensions for confirmation. The two long lenses would have adapters which would increase their length by about 2.5cm. Also I'd like to know if the black version uses leather. I am avoiding the ash version since it uses leather (I don't want dead animals in my stuff). I'd be okay if it was synthetic leather. I wouldn't want to to carry laptop in the same bag. My preference would be to carry two bags. One sling for cameras and another bag pack for laptop and other travel stuff.
Hi there Manuel, the Black 5L does not use Leather, instead it uses a synthetic 'Hypalon' material. Hopefully that helps you to assess if the 5L bag would be sufficient.
Peak Design Video thanks a lot. That's great to hear that it doesn't use leather. One of my lens is yet to be purchases (vintage glass so need to search for a good seller). Once I get it, I'll try the 5l to see if it fits. My guess is it should fit. 28cm > 20cm (70+64+62.5 mm) and height of 20cm well exceeds my requirements. (Max 18cm for the glass mounted on to camera, rest max 11cm).
Oh well haven't you been ever so helpfull! :p Can you answer more questions? Maybe like what is the deal with the updated P.O.V. Kit and that flash adaptor for the capture there was talks about a while back? ;)
You technically 'can' attach a 5L sling to an everyday backpack using the external carry straps, but it is not something that we would necessarily recommend as an elegant solution.
Peak Design Video Ah. Thanks for the reply. In that case what is the dimension of the main compartment (not tablet). The dimensions for the tablet compartment is available on your website. But not the main compartment.
Hi Dean, the Max Tablet Capacity: 24 cm (9.4”) x 18.5 cm (7.3”) x 1.5 cm (0.6”) The 5L Sling does not fit the new iPad Pro models due to the screen dimensions (ratio). Sorry about that.
I have PD messenger, backpack and sling/capture. Awesome awesome products! Big fan of PD products. I almost wanted to get this for the days I just want to carry one lens and a flash. But looks like this is too small for what I needed it for. Looks like I'll go with Chrome Industries Kadet for this need. I saw one and looks like i could fit a D810 70-200 as well and enough space for my DJI Osmo Mobile for some video.
Hi DJZ, the Capture can attach to the padded section of the Sling 5L Strap, but depending on how you use the bag, the usability will vary. Remember that when you adjust the length of the strap the position of the pad will change relative to the bag position. There is of course the single Capture Mount on the Sling 5L itself, but this means that the camera is most likely behind you.
The 5L Sling was developed at the same time as the Mavic 1. As the Mavic Pro 2 is larger, it will fit horizontally in the 5L Sling, so we would suggest using the dividers to create a shelf to put your accessories below the Mavic Pro 2.
Please make a 7.5L sling bag.. i feel the 5L is too small, and the 10L sling is too large.. i am pretty sure its not only me
Can’t wait to open mine (b'day tomorrow). I thought Larry was going to be all serious when he started off, but he eventually found his own style and rhythm. More of Larry please and the creative production :)
I really love these awkward vids. Really shows you that it's a no bullshit product. Starfade. Really might be my next purchase.

Kindle paperwhite or voyage fits perfectly in the tablet slot! Love it for light travelling.
Love this guy. Who knew art director could PR this good.
And now... the question of all questions: Why is there still no Charcoal version?
:(
I can't wait for more of this kind of review. Great job Lawrence!
I got this bag as part of the recent Kickstarter. I effing LOVE it! It's the perfect size and beautifully designed!
Hi, please no offence, but why you keep says that this bag can hold 11" tablet? Even in this video you are showing 9,7" iPad and seems to be the maximum. I don't understand why is this misleading specification at the website.
I am literally just waiting for the charcoal edition to come out so that I can buy this bag!
@7:17 I do that so often when I use mine. LOL Loving the waist carry mode but the clip is tough to disengage!
Two zippers on the main compartment would make a huge difference.
just bought Sling 5L and its awesome!!
Love the bag, Two zippers on main compartment would improve bag. And of course need space for new Ipad 10.5, a must.
Amazing one of PD best videos!!! Great job Lawrence.
Yay for Lawrence the Reference!

Need to fit a 10.5 iPad Pro with pencil. Non starter if it doesn’t.

Absolutely love this bag!
Loved this one Law!! Thanks for doing this !!
My favorite Peak Design bag so far (in ash color). Will you guys be considering working on a wallet anytime soon?
Hi there, no plans for a wallet at this stage. :-(
It would be a good idea though, love their design.
Peak Design Video If you ever do, it will be the best wallet ever invented!
Charcoal!!! Come on man! Not too dark, not too light...😔
This may be a strange question but how tall can a lens be in order to fit vertically?
Hi Thomas, probably best to answer your question with full internal dimensions...
Due to the shape of the bag being tapered, narrower at the bottom compared to the top, I will provide approximate internal dimensions at both points:
Bottom 23cm x 7.5cm

Is this setup feasible: d750, Tamron G2 24-70, Tamron G2 70-200?
Or does any other lens fit to the top card shelf ?
Soooo... i have been coming back to this video not only because i love lawrence. but i still can't figure out why it''s not a 6 liter bag. with the new ipads coming out this needs to fit the 10 inch :.(
are u guys gonna make one in Ash colour?

hahahaha its funny how you guys do the video. included the bloopers. but the bag is nice! just ordered 1 yesterday
Have you guys thought about selling the dividers separately. I'm looking to buy the everyday messenger, but could probably use some extra dividers.
We sure have www.peakdesign.com/product/bags/bag-accessories/flexfold-205
Peak Design Video have that always been an option? Because then I feel slightly silly for not having found it myself...
Only for the past two years or so ;-)
Dammit....
Oh well haven't you been ever so helpfull! :p
Can you answer more questions? Maybe like what is the deal with the updated P.O.V. Kit and that flash adaptor for the capture there was talks about a while back? ;)
You guys have taken "fanny pack" to a whole new level with this!
Favorite part of these videos is you can see they use their cameras. I never have to wonder if they’re just designers trying to price gouge.
can the 5L attached to one of the everyday backpacks?
You technically 'can' attach a 5L sling to an everyday backpack using the external carry straps, but it is not something that we would necessarily recommend as an elegant solution.
Can I fit a Fujifilm xc50-230 in this bag?
I'm sure you can, I can fit a Canon 6D with 70-200mm F4 IS
Can I put my fuji xh1 in the bag?
Hi. Can the bag fit an A4 size paper without folding it? Even in the main compartment? Thank you.
Hi there, unfortunately the height of the 5L sling is approximately 20cm, insufficient to allow carry of an A4 paper without folding it.
Peak Design Video Ah. Thanks for the reply. In that case what is the dimension of the main compartment (not tablet). The dimensions for the tablet compartment is available on your website. But not the main compartment.

Can you fit a printed boarding boarding pass into the bag without having to fold it?
So close guys. Just slightly bigger would have been perfect. But the 10L was to big for me.
Does it fit the 10.5 inch ipad pro?
Hi Dean, the Max Tablet Capacity: 24 cm (9.4”) x 18.5 cm (7.3”) x 1.5 cm (0.6”)
The 5L Sling does not fit the new iPad Pro models due to the screen dimensions (ratio). Sorry about that.
Thank you, Ill stick to my 10L

Hi, does it fit Microsoft Surface Go(with keyboard) in the tablet compartment?
Can this bag be used with a belt? Is that a loop on the back of the bag where a belt could go through?
Can the new Capture function well attached to the strap of the Sling 5L?
Hi DJZ, the Capture can attach to the padded section of the Sling 5L Strap, but depending on how you use the bag, the usability will vary. Remember that when you adjust the length of the strap the position of the pad will change relative to the bag position.
There is of course the single Capture Mount on the Sling 5L itself, but this means that the camera is most likely behind you.
so, if you're bigger than Lawrence, I guess the waist strap won't be large enough?
Anybody think this bag is gonna fit my 5d mk3 and a 35mm 1.4 lens?
Whats up anyone knows if i can loop my pant belt thru the rear of the sling?
Having trouble fitting Mavic pro 2. Anybody else?
The 5L Sling was developed at the same time as the Mavic 1. As the Mavic Pro 2 is larger, it will fit horizontally in the 5L Sling, so we would suggest using the dividers to create a shelf to put your accessories below the Mavic Pro 2.
Dji osmo mobile 2 can fit it?
Too bad it doesn’t iPad pro 11. It would be a perfect combination with a mirrorless camera
good design
yellow is not the best color for black bag...i prefer red/purple/chrome
“Black Straps = Vegan” 😂😂
Here's my vlogging configuration of this bag. th-cam.com/video/yjiWTSh9MjY/w-d-xo.html
Dear Santa...
Id would be perfect for me when my 10,5" iPad Pro fits into it. But when this is not the case ... nothing for me :-(((((
Black and brown doesn’t match at all....
Presenter comes across as unsure and not confident sometimes. It comes across as though this guy is unprepared for this video and unprofessional.
