I love Ajahn Jayasaro's talks so much! They are consistently an abundant goldmine of dhamma and this one is no exception. As usual it will take several listens to really unpack everything. Much thanks to Amaravati Monastery to hosting him and making this recording available publicly. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
For me, of the Farang Masters of the Thai Forest Tradition, Ajarn Jayasaro, amd Ajarn Thanissaro, are the two best teachers and clear explainers of Dhamma and of true practice to reach the paths and fruits of Magga, on Planet today. I met Ajarn Jayasaro once near to Wat Nong Pha Pong after three days and nights of listening to Dhamma sermons 24 hours a day for 3 days consecutive, and we talked for about half an hour or more, shortly before my own ordination as a Bhikkhu actually, and he was sat apart from all the other monks and lay persons who were chatting and already forgetting to remain within the mindfulness developed over the three days of practice, and sat alone maintaining his mindfulness in silence, with a smile on his face, that was only slight, not that of a smirk, rather, he way the mouth curves up when in meditation and in sukha (happiness). I knew he was also smirking at the temptation to forget mindfulness he was witnessing around him, and at his own efforts to maintain his own mindfulness. I found my perception or thoughts that this was what he was experiencing, attract me to approach him, as i was also avoiding contact for the same reasons. So we both defeated the object of the game and ended up talking, as i had to ask him about something to do with meditation, which i was able to demonstrate to him in order to explain. He looked and was both interested and concerned, for he saw something good, and something not so good. he saw meditative advancement, but he also asked me why i was so interested in aliens. I said 'i never told you i was interested in aliens'. he said 'didn't you?' - i said 'No i didn't'. So in this moment, i imagine to myself that we both knew he had slipped in revealing that he knew more of what i was thinking, than just the things i had spoken. he doesnt like to talk of or show powers. But he knew something i never told him. That doesnt help us attain Magga though, so forget it, its just a story, and not provable. What matters is that Ajarn Jayasaro's teachings are supreme and easy to understand, slowly spoken with mindfulness and circumspection, and one can only benefit froom listening to every talk from this Master and from Ajarn Thanissaro Bhikkhu too, to understand the true practice (from Thanissaro) and understand the true Dhamma (from Jayasaro), then combine their teachings, and attain the paths, and the fruits, of the path that leads to the cessation of suffering, and rebirth in Samsaric realms. He also seemed surprised that he knew something i never told him, and i have also been surprised when someone told me they never told me something i mentioned to them, so i can fully understand how someone can implement a power, without realising it or intentionally doing it.. its just natural.
This is my favorite Buddhist guy. Smart but also with a lot of charisma and heart, very inspiring.
This talk is crucial. Blessings Ajahn Jayasaro 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
