Thank You for the thorough and honest review. I picked up an undecorated version of the chop nose. She will be getting the full super detail treatment. Finally an injection molded GP9 with loads of potential. TCS Sound Decoder goes in as well.

Hi CK! I also picked up a high hood (9147). Overall I am satisfied. Very smooth runner! My only real gripe is I wish they would have put bells in the appropriate locations. Other than that, I'm happy. I look forward to your super detailing vids-gives me inspiration to take mine further.

I've bought five. Milwaukee Road 975 (it's prototype is eight miles away. It is now PIDX 118. Second one will become MRL 4355. Third will become RSSX 116 (now doing work on Rio Tinto- Kennecott, UT property). Then I want to super detail one, Milwaukee Road 228, this includes adding a high hood. I had already had bought it, then decided to add the high hood later. The high hood (SD24) and one GP7 & one SD24 grab irons detail kit, and the replacement horns all are from Atlas. (Cheaper too). The last one will become a low hood non dynamic brake Winchester & Western. The two Milwaukee Road units I'll install Soundtraxx Tsunami2.
One thing that really impressed me was the detailed walkways and the see through steps. If and when Walthers will bring out another run I have five more prototypes I'd like to model. I love branchlines & shortlines and their power. These models will definitely do the job.
And I'd like to thank the gentleman in this video for his positive observations about these models.

Always loved the IC/ICG. Awesome looking locos.....especially the high hood.

High hood geeps are awesome! Love them. Especially the first and second generations. They look great in the orange and white paint scheme. When you add all the details they will look excellent. Great video and I'm looking forward to seeing these locomotives take shape. 👍

Nice review. Love the ESU explanation. Have some other Walthers engines with the decoders so will watch the other videos to find out more.

Today I have purchased my fifth one. (One) MRL 131, (one) CMSTP & P, 975 (two) RSSX 116 & 1590 (one) unknown, maybe PIDX 118 in a quasi heritage "Tooele Valley " paint scheme. Right now it's in a SSRX paint scheme. But I'll be using Atlas GP7 grab irons.

I like that the used ESU but is it the budget ESU decoder or the full function one? I like the comment that the dynamic brake sound is faint. Especially since it's not equipped with dynamic brakes lol. Guess if you have a lokprogrammer, you can disable the dynamic brake sounds. Nice engine though

The MidSouth is my favorite road. When I saw that Walthers was going to put IC 9174 on the market, my first thought was, "Man! Y'all could have put out a MidSouth paint job on that one!"
