In the drama, the main characters all has 3 lifes, demon, god and human, only if they experienced all three, their spirit can go to divine level. In chinese culture, budda is not god, in our culture, in some way budda is not god, but is at a higher spirit level than god, in chinese culture, god has ages, they can live over 10000 years, but they will need to reborn as human and restart suffering again then become god again. Budda does not have this problem, they are above the cycle of life, they can become human and get reborned again, but only if they are willing to do so, they don't have to
